Looking for a reasonable regatta in Feb-March with a decent PHRF fleet (yes I know there are no decent PHRF fleets so anything which may have a bit of decent racing and fun). Needs to be on the east coast preferably north of Florida, any ideas? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Corpus Christi or Houston always has stuff going on. They are on the east coast of Texas.

East coast, ha ha.

Let me put in a 2nd plug for NYRA, that's on the Neuse River in NC. Not hard to get here and it's a great sailing venue.

Corpus Christi is a beautiful place to sail, I can't believe there's not some kind of winter series going on there. It's not north of Florida though

One of the longest running Wednesday Night racing series in the country, since 1967 or something.

I'll second the eastern NC stuff. Don't forget to go to Beaufort.

Get a racing fix in winter by thinking outside the box. A buddy arranged to charter a one design (Lightning) for a winter regatta in SanDiego 2 years ago. We are phrf racers but this sounded like fun. I joined him and his foredeck guy. He races a Lightning too, but I hadn't been on one in 10 years. We flew in from Wisconsin, had a ball, of course met some great folks on and off the water, raced mid pack in a five day series and spent a surprisingly small $ amount for the week. I think most OD fleets would love to swell thier ranks for any regatta and you could probably find a decent boat to charter. I know we put down a damage deposit and a fixed charter fee. Both were reasonable and we got our deposit back at the end of the week after not damaging the boat. Our $ cost with flight, hotel, rental car, charter and race fee was approx $750/ person (Rum Extra) for the whole week.
