What am I offered (will accept the Int 14 the Misses wants)

Get a bag, write "pieces of string too small to save" on it, and start yourself a collection.

Well as of Feb 8, 2010, I have a classic Texas Instruments Loran ready for the dumpster.... so much for being a backup for the time when the GPS network gets attacked by UFO's --- DOH... so many useless memories that can't be put on the dumpster, of that esoteric display of TD's and interpolating on charts to get Lat/Long. So the big decision is now.... should I keep it's base mount and 10ft whip antenna for anything

Is it spending a month in suspended junkination or something?

Yes, but my two are not linked together like that and they are of slightly different sizes. I assume the larger was to vang with (more forward where sail has more wraps around boom) and the smaller one was for the mainsheet (more aft where fewer wraps made the package less thick).

That picture shows my exact Proctor mast and boom.

But don't laugh too hard; I just sold one on Ebay to a guy sailing a Halberg-Rassey 31. So they are still useful!

I believe thats schmuck.

Schmuck is most often used in American English as a pejorative or insult, meaning an obnoxious or contemptible person; one who is stupid, foolish, or detestable.

Variants of spelling and alterations include shmuck, schmo and shmo.

Schmuck entered English as a borrowed pejorative from the common Yiddish insult, where it is an obscene term for penis.

One of those nice glass antennas that you get fibers stuck in your hand from if you are stupid or absent minded enough to run your hand along???

I've dumpstered two of those. Yech.

Hey,

Those make great flag sticks for seasonal race marks. Just brush a coat of anything on them (epoxy, enamel, poly, rtc to save the hands of the mark setters).

IB

IB...no worries...I have one of those right here in my back yard...I just took it off my 4KSB this spring! I'll just call up joydot and tell her to come get it

I am pretty sure I threw away the Apelco 6600 that was attached to it, but I kept the stupid antenna

about 5 or 6 years ago, I took some yesteryear round battens and a couple of old antennas (that had give me splinters!) and FC and I made up the flags we used to redo the race marks. Probably time for another set......

Bring the antenna to my new place. I think it's about 600 feet across the creek from my pier to hers. I'm sure we can come up with a launching system.......

Each year in springtime I have to fight with my lady about the 130 kg of lead in our cellar. She says that it is stupid to keep the lead for another year. Okay, the boat was sold 3 ago and the lead was bought for a keel project that never made it from the drawing into real work. But I have a strong feeling that the lead should stay with me ...

Well, it ain't boat related (unless some $#&'n seals start climbing on board like they do in LA), but I have a full roll of barbed wire in my basement... where we moved it from the last house's basement... not sure why we thought we would need it, maybe it was part of the Y2K preparations that I'm forgetting about... how's that for insane crap to store forever?
