i don't disagree with any of that. i don't even disagree that some people had (have) to go. what bothers me is the calls for anybody that anybody has a little issue with. but when people antagonise the jerks and feed the trolls they really have no one to blame but themselves. it also bothers me that they expect admin to clean up the mess they created.

With all due respect, that works for the (relatively) harmless trolls and sock puppets, there are a bunch I have on ignore. The several year running shit fights are also easy to ignore, if annoying having to deal with. But there are a handful of posters that crossed any and every line a long time ago, and continue to do so on a regular basis. It is not a matter of antagonizing them or starting anything. When people are solely interested in ugly personal attacks and revealing details of people's personal lives that they have some how uncovered (which is highly disturbing in itself), ignoring them is like putting out a forest fire with a turkey baster.

Per the earlier post, I haven't talked to Shife in a bit, but the last time I did he had no interest in coming back here.

To date Scot has preferred we not comment directly on the ban status of specific accounts and individuals. But I can say I've not seen his latest sock puppet since a little after midnight yesterday.

There are a few individuals with "Ban on Sight" orders out on them, so let me know if when he manifests again.

The biggest challenge with sock puppet control is identifying them - just because someone acts like a jerk doesn't mean it's the SAME jerk as another user, even if their issues seem similar. Before I ban a suspected sock puppet I generally need to check the account out if the IP's/E-Mails don't give it away immediately, which usually means giving the poster enough rope to identify himself before hitting the flick button.

Identifying someone just from a couple of posts isn't always easy, but once someone like GP gets himself worked up he always slips.

Sweet! I don't like the idea of banning just because someone disagrees or you don't like what they say. At least gaytor brings some some slight entertainment value to this forum. But there are a select few like gee pee that should be kicked on sight. So great job if you're doing that.

There is no question that the private lives of our politicians and government officials are subjected to a high level of scrutiny, such scrutiny can and very often does lead to vilification by the media.

nope never warp - just plop on the stove and cook on top of it - we don't recommend very high heat - but anything up to medium high is fine

we just reached 5 tons of copper sent out as diffusers
