"Fair Lady" and "Fiere Lady" are two different boats -built some time apart - out of the same mould and with the same core crew.
See PDF in Skew's post above.
Incidentally Bnto racing boats with names including "Lady" reflected a "works" boat, Lady standing as a tribute to Bnto president Mrs Roux.

Not a sailing photo, but can anybody tell me what this is. Saw it in Malta a couple of years back, don't think I would volunteer to do the Middle Sea Race in it, but Revolution was not much different in her days.

How on earth would a ConCup boat find its way to Malta??
Maybe Fracesco Bruni bought one for practice?
But the Royal Malta Yacht Club on the transom confuses the issue somewhat.

I just took a closer look at this, it really is a Cat. 37. The giveaway is the forward hatch on the starboard side, the fleet was built that way for starboard roundings. The winches are also distinctive in their layout, by ConCup rules you have to go through a turning block aft of the track (obscured in this shot) and not directly to the large wind forward, so the layout is the same, the small winches behind the track were for the spinnaker sheet. The checkstays and those winches are add-ons. Also, the pit is very distinctive, I did pit for Dean Barker one year and the whole setup is exactly as I remember it.

There was a 37 on the East Coast (of the US) - Western Long Island Sound - Manhasset Bay to be exact. It was sold about three years ago. Last I heard I thought it was going to England, but could have ended up anywhere. It had a bigger rig than the con cup boats and was sailed in PHRF for a while. Not a good boat for anything other than match racing.

Just checked my digital library and note that I have an earlier photo of the same yacht dated 24th June 2006, so this yacht has been in Malta for over 5 years. I thought that only 11 Catalina 37s were built and 10 are retained for the Con Cup?
Have just done a google search for "Moondancer RMYC" and it seems the yacht is still winning races in Malta as of 2nd September 2011 and is called a Catalina Capri 37.

The WLIS boat 'Dreamcatcher' was alot worse when owned by the one and only Tai Chang.
I am Mostly refering to the boat condition - setup.
That said, I enjoyed helming her in NYC beercans
Sail safe! 'nuff said.

Indeed this is the '87 NA's. I think the lead boat w/red shouldered kite is Amazing Potato owned by Peggy & Lyn Comfort (the transom is J/N-ish). Also the Spuds had UK sails while the Geese had Sobstadts until the boat was purchased by Robin who then went w/UK.
.
With several boats nearing the finish line, the boat in the center, nearest the camera, was Moonraker (35119). Her owner was Nils Muench. DYC. This was not a Mac race.
I don't recall Moonraker's designer or length.
I do believe this is from the One Tons held by Columbia Yacht Club July 1987. I think the boat in the lead is another Beneteau owned by Al Henning (R.I.P) named Poltergeist. His spinakers where always white with just a little red at the shoulders. I did enough time looking up at them whilst trimming them.

I helped deliver Triumph from Florida to Detroit in the spring of '83 and I think the new rig went up after the Mac races, so yes that is likely the old rig (new rig had 3 sets of spreaders?) I saw the new version "Joli" at Bayview a year or so ago. What a great restoration and nice to see these old girls treated well.

AKA previously and now "Joli". If I am looking at the pic correctly it looks like it had the previous/older rig in it too.

Good God, that's dredging up some ancient history--did time on Road Warrior, then Lorimar in the late 80's. I am beginning to feel like an old shit.As far as Onetonners are concerned, see this picture of J-41 Oneton Red Gull (ex Road Warrior, John Kolius 1984) and J/V-Oneton ex-container (Container, Udo Schütz, 1987 German Admirals Cup Team)racing on the Ijsselmeer/Netherlands two weeks ago.

I remember one morning of the BYC Mack start watching Brian Keith and co trying to patch up a hole in the bow of Lorimar--some chick in a small Sea Ray or some such was backing up and put the out-drive unit into her...

As far as I know "Road Warrior" always carried the masthead rig as do most of the other J-41s. As mentioned earlier in this thread there seem to be only one fractional rigged J-41 called "Alathea", later "Aja", which was reported to be a little slower than the mastheads. Here´s another shot
