The E-Scow has not been in the water in over a decade.how is the E-Scow fleet shaping up?
(The weather pattern has shifted over the decades, we now get a lot more on-shore wind than we did in the past and scows don't like big chop. But the Wednesday night breeze would have been a great ride.)
The 29er was sold to friends in Ottawa Canada.
The Fireball went to a high school sailing club in Pennsylvania.

Jr current Robert's entries are 15 boats?
Including Schockstar -- yes, 15 boats... and if my records are correct, that is the best turnout since 2007, so thanks to everyone so far! Spread the word, if you would -- there's still time to sign up (even bring in your entry on Friday) and any boat not sailing CRW OD should definitely attend... beautiful night race (let's hope for no bugs......), delicious chili, and the best-tasting post-race beer you'll ever have.
I think this year is the largest disparity we've ever had as far as ratings go, too, with the fastest @ -42 and the slowest @ 219... granted, we've had some 200 ratings win the Roberts just a few years ago but, just saying.

intellicast is calling for 3-4 knots... a little suggetion - don't have terry delay the starts looking for wind - just start the f*er...better to start then drift then drift and wait to start... just saying
Don't worry, first class will start on time, regardless... and with the 15 min between starts, should be no problem clearing the line in between... but, just in case, I will have R/C delay the next class start only if needed.

Me moved Synergy to CYC last night. Had a great cruze over. On pretty nights, it's amazing how many people you can get signed up for a delivery sail! (I think we had 9 on board.)
Question: How long does this race usually take? Are there records for longest/shortest?
...and I also like that I get to race in the "B Fleet" for a change.

I put the .3oz kite on the boat last night...and looks like I'll get a chance to use it!

Yeah...I JUST saw that you posted the previous years results. I didn't remember seeing them before. I tried to hustle back here and edit my comment, but you beat me to it.
I'm like a hawk today for the Roberts stuff... and yeah, you didn't miss it... I just posted them this morning. Still looking for 2007, 2006, etc (I believe that's when we first started using SailWave for scoring) so if anyone else has happened to come across them please let me know.

Looking to put together a Melges 24 team on USA 55. PM me if you are interested, no squids or joy riders. Serious racers only. Strictly Corinthian effort, not a huge budget. Based out of Toledo.

how long is the robert's race these days?
best memory i have is after a start one year - sailing on tinkertoy jib reaching along in 20-30 knots of breeze thinking we were doing ok. along comes XLR8 blasting thru the waves going mach 10 and passing us like we where standing still. all peeps on board with huge grins on their faces with the ride. of course all the smiles turned upside down when we had to come back uphill in the same crap. i remember trimming the jib in out of tack and heard huge crack and felt something go by my ear. it was the turning block that blew out of the deck and missed my head by a few inches. thank god we dropped out after that and didn't have to keep going upwind.
ahhhhhh the memories.

Roberts Race update:
Official course length was 41.75nm... Congratulations to those who stuck it out and endured some trying conditions. At least there was no rain, very few bugs, beautiful sunset and sunrise.
Congratulations to the winners of Class A, B, C: First Tracks, D^2, Sneak A Tack
Congratulations to First Tracks, also, for winning overall.
Thank you to everyone for attending -- especially those who have supported the event several times over the years. This was my first year running the race and it was a nice morale booster to up the attendance from <10 over the past three years to 17 this time! Unfortunately, that makes me want to run the race again...
Results posted here, as well as on the CYC website.

So do I get an "Iron Man" trophy for sticking it out, knowing damn-well I'd be the last boat?

Oh man, Trans Erie race... I've always wanted to do that one -- just wish Cleveland was a bit closer to either of the end points!
Does it really matter where it starts or ends or where you keep your boat? You have to do one "round trip" anyway assuming you don't sell the boat at the finish.

Bay was a blast last year, (for the first time in a while) with great turnout, I think it will be the same or bigger this year, Sadly the bene fleet might be down, unless we can get a few detroit and erie boats to show up. If you aren't doing anything that weekend, why not go to the bay?
Good point!

Well, it is expensive ;-) I, though, am looking forward to it. What is the racing format... Fri = islands course, Sat = W/L, Sun = W/L?

For OD classes, W/L the whole 3 days.
PHRF classes Islands on Friday with W/Ls thrown in depending on wind and input.
Cat Classes, inshore W/L
Alas, we can;t forget about the feeeder races, from cleveland, Sandusky, and I think Port Clinton, and North Cape. Thursdays or wed night maybe from cleveland....

Looks like there will be a J120 one design fleet. That will be fun. Just have to find out if they want three days of W/L or 2 W/L and a round the islands race. I'll bet they get to pick!
Wonder if we'll get a M32 Fleet? I know the 122 is looking forward to going up against them again. Big fun at the Mills, Race Week and the Nash.

Glad your signed up. Welcome! My power boat can sleep four Motleys. He can cover himself with an "I" Flag in the big cockpit. But it sleeps zero "wife of Motley's" I don't think you or Moose would like it either. No AC.it is signed up for bay - we should have 4-6 j105's up there

I am not well connected up there at all. Have you tried asking Trey? He may have an inside scoop.
