I would like to personally thank everyone who came to either the Roberts Race, Leukemia Cup, Fall Regatta... or a combination of them all this year. I hope you all had a great time and if the weather didn't cooperate, at least the food and beverages did!
See you all next year!

I just received this:
Subject: Drew Wanenmacher
Please lift up a prayer for Drew who is in serious condition, fighting for his life, in Fairview Hospital and will be transferred to main campus Cleveland Clinic. Not sure of the details, will pass along as received. He has received 2 blood transfusions, and has internal organ damage.
Blessings,
Robin Richards

Hey All.
I know some of you have already recieved the email, some have been waiting to hear the cold weather sailing news.
Frostbiting will be on this year! Here is a copy of the email i sent out to my list. I do not check SA often, so if you want the info you need to message me or contact me with your email address, otherwise you'll be left outta the loop.
Side note. I welcome newbies, but prefer some sailing experience. Dinghy experienced not required, but please realize that these boats are small and tippy. We will go over capsize procedures on Day 1 and see if anyone wants to demonstrate!
Alright, now that you all got sufficiently cold and wet during the Final Gun, we can start talking about Frostbiting!!
>
> We WILL be frostbiting yet again this year. It still amazes me how big it has become. I will send out registration forms soon so you can have them ready as soon as I get a chance to update them.
Here is what you need to know!
> Frostbiting will begin on Sunday Oct 21st. Show up at 9:30 (this may get bumped earlier, unless we can rig boats on the 20th- so hint hint, who wants to rig up some boats on the 20th?) at EWYC.
>
> Every participant does not need to be a club member, but WILL need to fill out the necessary registration and waiver. If you're interested in just helping with RC, please let me know!
>
> Everyone will be asked for a member # or a damage deposit of $100 to be turned in before you sail the first time. This is held on file for the season.
>
> NEW THIS YEAR: we are asking for a mandatory $20 registration fee. This will go towards powerboat gas, and any money at the end that is leftover will go towards the boat mainatence. (ie bungee, line, plugs, pins and rings)
>
> ALSO: make sure you and whoever you are sailing with are dressed appropriately. Judging by the weather lately, I am not sure we will have many of our 70+ degree weather on sunday mornings. I will send out our weather policy to everyone prior to the 21st.
>
> Any questions let me know- i know this was a brief email, but figured i had to get something out to the masses!

A couple of us are free Saturday to rig. Time? Also, can we use a membership number from CYC for the damage deposit or just credit card/check/cash?
Looking beautiful for Sunday...7-9 kts SSW, sunny and 50 degrees.

Also, I just heard a catamaran on A dock at Edgewater YC is swamped. And why would anyone in their right mind leave a furled jib on board during this? (Klew-less perhaps?)

Whiskey is open but the docks are roped off. Lots of damage, including a 20ish foot sailboat on the rocks. The blue retaining barrels broke loose so the marina was more or less wide open for the high water. Boats are smashed up against each other. A lot of the docks are ripped apart.

Pics from upstream of CYC yesterday. Emerald Necklace docks from and including gas dock south- gone. 12 boats reportedly swept out to lake. Some boats damaged at CYC. Some docks and boats damaged at Westlake Hotel Marina damaged. Some of the docks in the pic are what's left of some of Emerald docks as they floated across the river to the WM docks. Overturned boat is in lake off Kensington Oval park. Probably form Emerald Necklace

Some of our North Cape sailors were out for a Thanksgiving morning sail and reported that they could see the bottom in 15-plus feet of water. Absolutely unheard of for our part of the lake.

Are there any M24s around? Or is this a let-them-race-and-they-will-come approach?

It will be great to see more sporties on LE this year! Excited for the "Tripple Crown" also, hopefully it will bring some more 1d racers to the area. Hey great news for Danny!...Danny? Danny? hey anyone seen Danny?...anway it looks like the j70s have a strong OD fleet right out of the box, why would they want to mess around with PHRF, they can just take their own fleet to just about anywhere

phrfle is a JOKE! kellner and all of his toadies need the flick. no bow pulpit BITCH PLEASE. hilarious to see a j22 pass a bunch of phrf pigs in huge seas and win (thats right you phrf fans there is a place on Lake Erie where a boat without a pulpit gets a smurf rating...oops). using the pulpit rule to insulate the 4knshitbox's of the lake is/was pathetic. wake the fuck up.
