Here's a link to the current standings- http://www.vanisle36...php?p=8_8_Leg-8
Mai Tai is holding together in some pretty challenging conditions- the 2/3rds of the race was essentially a beat into winds up to 30 mph. Now that they've had some downwind conditions the boat is cleaning up- I believe they've won the last two legs in Division 2- one of which was down the outside of Vancouver Island in Heavy Offshore conditions.
Sounds like competitors boats have experienced broken masts, rudders, and keels- but the Flying Tiger was not amongst them. God I hope I don't jinx them for leg 9....
The boat is tougher than perceived!

Eric Jespertsen is on the Tiger and he says it's some of the toughest racing he's ever done and he's done a lot.

They ended up placing 2nd over all and leg nine beat the next boat in their div by an hour and half just a 90 mile down wind leg.
