Nah. They have Hasslebeck, who can help to groom their qb in waiting. They took a youngster with the number 8 pick in the first round last year. They don't need any more guys who are not ready to play. What I could see happening, since Tebow is a Jacksonville guy and the Jags really need a shot of excitement, is the Jags trading recently signed Chad Henne to the Broncos for Tebow. Horseface gets a backup in case Manning gets hurt, and the Jags get a celebrity, to put people in the seats to boo whenever Gabbert mucks it up.

I would laugh if the Dolphins could close the deal today with Alex Smith, but they won't, and he will go back to the Niners and try to pretend that they didn't try to replace him. Dolphins will end up with Matt Moore at qb again.

Traded to who and for what?
The kid is only useful as a quarterback if you completely dumb down the offence so he only has to make one read. It took a couple of games for Fox to realize this and write a Tebow playbook with crayons.

This means Denver CAN NOT use him as a backup for Manning. You need a PHD to be able to make the decisions Manning makes at the line and Tebow can't spell PHD.

So the trade options would be:
a) Take Tebow on as a starter and dumb down the offence? Probably not.
Backup for a program where the starter also is one dimensional runner. Philadelphia already has such a backup. Carolina?
c) Third down specialist - way too much cap hit.

Manning in Denver was my prediction, with Timmy going to Miami. The entire state of Florida loves that guy.

Will Denver pick up Dallas Clark? Me thinks so.

Most of those late season wins in Denver were on the shoulders of the defense, so having an actual QB only enhances the prospects for the Broncos.

The 9'ers would have been a better bet for a Super Bowl. But the people running that organization, I suspect, might have given a guy like Manning the creeps. The poor man has had to deal with Irsay for a decade already. Not to mention California in general. John Elway...Denver...not so much.

They aren't paying him much $, he has no trade value at this point, and since McDickface spent a 1st-rd pick on him, we may as well get some mileage. We've already traded Quinn to KC, so who is our backup anyway? They could work Tebow into some goal-line sets and a wild-cat wrinkle or two, all while he learns from a HOF-bound QB how to play the position. Then, if Manning stays healthy, trade him in 2 years for a 1st or 2nd rounder.

The only benefit of trading him would be that someone else would have to deal with Gaytey stalking their team.

Elway and the rest of the management want to Tebow problem gone. Elway doesn't think the Broncos can ever win anything with Tebow at QB. He doesn't EVER want fans clamoring for Tebow again. He would trade him for something off the Burger King menu to get rid of him.

Tebow was 3rd round talent to begin with. Now that his limitations are known he is worth a 4th rounder. No way does any amount of riding the bench behind Manning make worth a 2nd or 1st round pick in trade.

I don't want to get back into this thread too much, but I want to at least have my peace.

I've grown increasingly pissed at the Denver Broncos over the years since McD, and apparently it's an ownership issue. Now Elway is running things to unproven effect, but I think this Manning-for-Tebow swap is going to go down as a big mistake.

I think it's unreasonable to think that Manning can do in Denver what he did in Indy. He had time to help build that offense to the way he coached it, and I don't see him able to do that in Denver. Sure, he's a good qb, but the reason he won Bowls is more accurately due to his supreme adaptability at reading and reacting to plays. Now he's in Denver with a half-broken neck, and who knows what else is going to break next, and he's going to be put into the unenviable position of having to produce an efficient offense without having the correct tools.

At the same time, Tebow was usually a horrific quarterback, doing embarrassing things in that pocket before deciding to throw, spending more time in the pocket doing gymnastics than actually reading plays. He wasn't just bad, he was cringe-worthy bad. Except ... except when he was good. And when he was good he wasn't Cam Newton good, but he was close. He was able to take over an offense in a way that Elway used to do it. And unlike the rest of the qbs in the game, his danger came from the difficulty of defending him.
