Well if the present City Is YC reps and the Commadore stay in place CI Cup will be DEAD.
The City Island Cup??? Is that a Golf Tourney?
If I have anything to do with it, we will have drop marks and a chase boat and get this event revived so Hustler and Deviation can get back to there annual match racing with other boats getting in our way from time to time.

I thought the only sailing Hustler does around City Island is sailing away from City Island. I guess I'm still new at this.

Hands down the best crew food I've ever had - delivered from the resturant (Coho) to the boat (Coho) via Tim's muscle boat (Medium Red ?).
The guy had it all for a while. Shouldda paid his taxes.

If he paid taxes he wouldn't have been able to afford the boats. The man apparently had priorities.

I'm sure you know all about what it costs to go to a private college. It's hard to justify taking the week before finals off to go racing in the Carib... no matter how sweet a gig. Was for my FL-->KW ride. Start begging and maybe I'll throw in a good word for you... same foredeck setup as A and verrrrrrry comfortable.

Bold move? What am I missing here?
Yes, IRC and PHRF classes need to have everyone signed up in order to do splits. So the earlier you sign up, the earlier they can start doing splits. So get on the list. All other OD classes put themselves into it when registering.
Care to expound on your issue?
BTW, as with many other events, I would expect the scratch sheet to be made up long before the last day before the event.

Nothing to do with you LZ, your product has vastly improved AYC's scoring and information sharing. Of course it can only go so far with the club that is operating it. Regardless of how early people sign up my money is on not having a scratch sheet that resembles what is on the water before 26-27 April.

Maybe if you played nicer with the boats in your size range you could convince them to dispense with PHRF and get in the IRC game

The J/92 wants no part of IRC, the boat actually rates correctly under IRC, equivalent to a 97 PHRF rating, which is exactly what JBoats says the boat should owe the J/29

As you proved last year by making it on the podium in a few races the IRC rating of a boat, no matter how shitty, can always be overcome by good crew work. It's all a matter of how many seconds you leave on the course. Bad douse here, slow tack there, miss a shift, second row start, etc. Call a layline wrong and all of a sudden you're being passed by someone with a less favorable rating because they're sailing their boat better.
In my mind people don't get to bitch about their rating until they're good enough to prove that they can't sail to it.
That applies both for PHRF, IRC, ORR, whatever. The advantage to the cost of IRC is that your number and the number your competitor has isn't subjective and arbitrary and it stays the same wherever you go.

So far we've got a Farr 400 and After Midnight, will High Noon make it out?
Word on the street is hes building a new Carkeek HPR 40 to repalce HN.
"He's" getting the HPR 40? I think you missed an 'S" in there.

If you don't like the beer don't drink it!
Is the keg kicked yet?
The keg was just brought to home depot to spend the next 30 days in the paint shaker, just to be sure its extra foamy.

There are a bunch of good beers on tap in the bar...but you're probably not allowed in there.

Forget any of that, you'll be able to find me near the flagpole with a bottle of something Scottish at least 12 years old.

I would like to update people on Chris' progress in the last 7 months which can be followed here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/ChrisOBriensDeterminationPage
Chris has been working very hard and lately has been making some great progress with some limited movement returning. He still has a long road ahead of him but he has a great attitude and he will get there.
Chris sailed with some of you on this board and was a sailing instructor at Longshore Sailing School.
We're making plans to get him out on the water this Spring - Summer.
There is going to be a fundraiser in his local town in CT. next month. If you would like to donate please send a check made out to 'Benefit of Chris O’Brien' to:
Shelia Cardell, 155 Hilltop Circle, Trumbull, CT 06611-5103.
We are also looking for donated items for a raffle....
Please join us at this event and think about donating an item or service for the raffle and auction.
All of the proceeds will go
directly to the family.
