Send them a picture of the actual model, and one of rasp's renderings. Ask them if they can tell which one is real!

No way...I don't want Rasp to find out how good he is. I won't be able to afford him.

I somehow missed this thread while it was happening, but wanted to say how incredible all this work has been, from Bob trying to assist in getting the drawings, to Rasputin's amazing efforts on the lines drawings and renderings, to Gates half hull, and everyone else's contributions.

Kudos, it has been a great thread!

A month? It took you a whole month to make two models.
I'm going to have to send you some Seattle coffee.

Come to think of it, that's pretty damn amazing.
Good on ya Gate.

Two?? That's three...and not very impressive if considered "a job". I really like my new job!!

Thanks Bob...you had a hand in it.

(and I really like your Seattle coffee)

So if I have you make a model can I pay you in coffee beans?

Gate, watch out! Seattle deer leave a deposit that looks like a pile of coffee beans.

Come to think of it, that would explain Starbucks.

When you put on as many coatings Gate does, you spend a lot of time waiting for them to dry hard enough to sand them off, ready to apply the next coat.

Semi:
That was just my lame attempt at humor.
I treasure my Gate model of Kim's boat. I can see it from where I sit all day.

I went to visit Kim's boat on Saturday as part of my "presentation" at the Marine Symposium. For my afternoon session I had everyone meet at the yard where they stood around and asked questions about Kim's boat. It was fun and it saved me from having to stand in front of the group and talk. It saved the group from having to listen to me.

I treasure my copy too! So does SWMBO, she likes to stare at it. I guess we had better get her the real one someday.

Damn that works well there...it's nice the Slivers found good homes.

I'm working on a custom 12m hull now for a client in Portugal and an Islander 30 for the Seattle area. Pics to follow.
