[Sailing My Cubicle]

Some of the best nights in my life have been in Montreal. Granted some of the worst as well Walking into the wrong house while looking for a friends party on shrooms and finding a family sitting around a TV comes to mind. There were 6 of us, all of us had taken our shoes off at the front door, all on various substances. I was first in unfortunately and was greeted by and angry father shouting at me in french! "WRONG HOUSE! WRONG HOUSE!" as I turn around and struggle to put my shoes on and book it. 6 of us crammed in a tiny hallway entrance trying to do the same. What a horror show. Guess everyone leaves the front door unlocked there...If you have the chance to go to McGill, GO!

And they also have great beer...

I'm going to want to hear more details come beer can season. Speaking of which, when are you splashing the boat?

Need to do a decent amount of epoxy and other work that requires warmish weather. Trying to get rid of all the deck leaks, and repair the T-Bone ding. We'd launch earlier and fix on the water, but that didn't work out quite so well last season. "Hmmm should we go sailing or fix leaks?". I think early-mid May is realistic, but if we get lots of 60's days in April then we'll crank it all out and splash her as soon as the list is crossed off.

Looking like we'll have 2 more boats on the line this season too! If you're bored come down and help, the other two are woodies and need some serious love to make competitive....

While your educational dollars go further in N.H. It's Fucking cold, that means the water is frozen most of the time. You would sail more with a Ice boat. If you want Hot chics you have to drive to montreal, or Boston.

I think that is a stylistic argument rather than a grammatical one. It can be taken simply as the contraction of "you all."

I'd absolute agree that this usage will not be advisable for him in writing college papers, or for that matter for almost any sort of professional writing. But for a forum, it's just style.

The school has a 73% acceptance rate. My guess is that the acceptance rate is even higher for out-of-state applicants who pay more in tuition.
To answer your question more directly: he has not demonstrated that he is college material and I am amazed that he gained entrance to a university. I have to believe that the school did not have an essay requirement or that he paid a service to write his essays for him. (The usage of third parties to "review" essays shockingly prevalent even amongst the nation's top schools). I'm scared to think of his abilities in math and science. I also believe he's shown some deficiencies in critical reasoning and judgment.
I'm also somewhat surprised that he has not achieved the goal set out for him by trenace: 5 consecutive posts without grammatical errors.

All of this being said, we can only hope that he spends a lot of time studying. I have my doubts as he does not seem motivated to improve.
If nothing else, he has graciously provided amusement for some while severely depressing anyone who is worried about the nation's future. I still agree with your initial suggestion of finding a good vocational school.
Hopefully, he can sail better than he writes. I think that was what this website was about anyway.

Personally, I'd guess he is at a Grade 10 level. Passion without prose, basically Wikipedia cut and paste without understanding. But does this mean that college is a step too far? I think not. If 4 years at UNH can bring NtY up to a basic level of education, say operating at a Grade 12 level (sort of like a finishing school) then he is a better person for it.

For the last time I will be graduating without loans and because of the same reason that I got onto NHS.
