Blue Blazes is leading out of the harbor with 12.4 knots TWS from 298 making 8.2 Knots BS. Hula Girl is second, Ocelot third, Time Shaver fourth and MiraMar in fifth. It looks like Div 3 could make some good miles down the track tonight and have an opportunity to keep in some pressure down the track when it goes light and offshore for the big boats tomorrow.

can any ride make up a 24hr head-start over these conditions when tomorrow is scheduled to be light & way outside

Class C is still in 20 knots of breeze just past El Rosario as of 7:30 AM. The boats hve paired up on routes. Ocelot and Blue Blazes are working inside on port in 2nd and third. Time Shaver is leading on corrected time in the middle road with Serena tracking behind in fourth. Hula Girl and Mira Mar are on the outside.

You know......... a regular Beautiful Sunny Day w clear skies the birds are chirpin the flowers are blooming and it's kinda warm (should be mid 70's)

as for that thing called wind, well a no show at the moment

but that's what I said yesterday and the racers got their own WIND that's following them down the hill like a dog on a chain

Yesterday the Wind was at its best for the start

with boats picking a lane and heading straight out of the bay till it was time to make a Left turn by the Coronado's (inside)

​As of 11:30 AM Time Shaver and Ocelot have been trading first place back and forth. The will have made just over 240 miles down the track in 24 hours. Currently Ocelot is doing 12.4 knots on a heading of 136 and Time Shaver is making 12.7 knots at a bearing of 132. The gribs are showing 18 knots of WS from 004 for Ocelot and 21.6 knots from 356 for Time Shaver.



The big boats are about to start and they'll have around 12 knots to start in. So, it won't be as light as it looked for them yesterday. But, they also don't look like they will have the pressure that the C class boats got last night. The leaders C Class boats look like they will hold the pressure for another 12-24 hours before it starts getting patchy.

Tracker says today's race starters in less than 6k doing 2X (and then som) and Lo Real doing 18.9k & long passed Ensenada after starting last

As of 5:00PM the big boats have really been chomping up the miles in 10 to 11 knots of breeze the majority of todays starters are doing betwwen 11 and 14 knots with Loreal doing 19.9 knots.l
Time Shaver is still leading in Div. C. But, Blue Blazes has gotten back in the same patch of water and Ocelot is a full two knots faster on the inside.
Weather forecats indicatee that right of rum may pay. But, how many extra miles do you sail to optimize VMC?

Rio is leading some other boats to the left of rhum into a vast calm, while Loreal, and Beau Geste, continue on with a strong breeze.

Looks like a raft up for the friday starters. -5ks boat speed, dim prospects for the future, the thursday starters...and loreal... sailing away in breeze. Even B.G. has made the hard lefty.

I'm guessin ya can't go by the wind reports off the tracker

shows the raft-up in just over 11k and heading out into a deep field of just over 11k

while just inside of the rum-line it shows just over 21k as Katina & Rio bob in that direction

Looks like the Dinner for Enloe, Cam and Co at Fiddler's Green Thursday evening was the correct move

these are a Fun Bunch to hang with and the stories are quite entertaining and plentiful

Katina and GB Teams had dinner at Humpries on Thursday evening and as I was not there for the dinner can only say the Backstage lounge was enjoyed afterwords

shall be interesting to see what happens as the Sun moves overhead

LoeReal is off in their own Private Idaho = Idaho how they can go that fast

Miramar will be serving the finest Food and Drink as they outpace the 2nd tier of Friday starters

if I went all the way from DAGO to Cabo I would stay longer than it took to make the last post

They are on their way to PV (after picking up some who flew into Cabo ??)

I can't imagine that ride lacking anything tween DAGO and PV

so I'm guessin flights were cheaper to Cabo than PV and the last leg Waaaaaaaaaaaay more hospitable aboard the Good Ship Coley D

Peligroso and Bad Pack are in the vicinity of Cabo doing around 5 knots. Blue Blazes is 143 miles out doing 7.4 knots. Who knows where Ocelot is? Time Shaver is 232 miles out doing 5.5 knots. Hula Girl is 287.8 miles out doing 7.6 knots. So, Loreal will finish sometime early afternoon. And, Blue Blazes will probably finish in the early hours tomorrow morning.

Today's position report has just been posted.

Ocelot is listed as 3rd with a position of 21 57' 108 31'. Blue Blazes 2cnd with 166 miles to go and Time Shaver 1st with 214 miles to go. But, Blue Blazes definitely has more breeze. It's going to be a nail biter.

Heard that Rio hit a reef about a mile from the finish and the bulb is gone from the keel. At least one crewmember with some injuries. Sounds like the boat stayed upright and they made it to the harbor. Anyone know more?
