Short jaunt to San Juan for an extended weekend -- anyone have great suggestions of what to do? Other half is a non-sailor, so that's out. Current plan is El Yunque - Fajardo - Old San Juan. What else should be on the "do not miss" list?

On sunday, hire a car, drive to Guavate, a little barrio that’s home to more than a dozen lechoneras — restaurants that serve the traditional Christmas lechón asado, or roasted pig, year-round. Best pig on the planet, My favourite is El Rancho Original, but just look for the one with the longest line...

Interesting - any chance that the lechoneras are there on a Friday? We have the car Friday-Saturday. It's somewhat on our way from the airport to El Yunque, depending on which way we go. The plan is to do OSJ on Sunday...

Just a reminder: El Yunque is a rain forest. You can expect that, while there, it will rain. Dress appropriately.

A shockingly high number of people are surprised that while visiting a rain forest it rains.

1st time?? go visit El Morro, grab a drink at Plaza Lzs Americanas
as much as I'm more of a fan of Don Q rum, the Bacardi factory tour is pretty cool
Cathedral De San Juan is stunning

best place to lay on the beach (IMHO) is Candado Beach (my frined owns a condo there so I'm biased..)...you can get a tan, swim in the Carribbean water, hit the casions, eat pork to your hearts content, drink a cafe con leche, party all night long (if that's yer thang)

looks like it is still there:
