I don't think they have even started racing...the weather has been pretty awful!

where are they this year? I went 3 or 4 years running in the late 90's. Great regatta even if they are the Exxon Valdeez of One Designs!

where are they this year? I went 3 or 4 years running in the late 90's. Great regatta even if they are the Exxon Valdeez of One Designs!

Funny you should ask! The weather gods were not pleased with the Flying Scots this week. The regatta was March 20-23 at Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans. With a front that just sat on us, or near us, Tues and Wed were blown out and Thursday was thunder and lightning.
But finally we broke the curse and Friday was clear with moderate winds. We got four races in and the race committee was excellent. First place was decided by 1/2 a boat length!

Somewhere there's a great photo of lightning striking right by the club. As soon as I find it again I'll post it!
