I subscribe to SAIL magazine and it's not bad. Some good articles. Some boring articles. Is Sailing World any better?
Any other good ones worth reading?

For the US-publications, Sailing (the large format one) is worth it just for the boat reviews...typically good photo work, too.

All of the main rags have one annoying problem, about every three years they start to run the same shit over again. In a way, they have too, cause there are always newbies, but still.

That's said, I'm a fan of Sailing, but it's a quick read. Bob needs more content. I like GOB but only as the owners are pretty humble folks and the boats are humble.

I can't get excited for Sailing, or Sail, or CW, as they all have the manufacturer paid reviews that get pretty old pretty quickly, and I'd rather not read the 90th review this month of iPad navigation apps.

Thanks for the kind words. My content in SAILING has been reduced to three boats a month. But I just work harder at making those three reviews worth reading.
I have taken a break from GOOD OLD BOAT. I worked my ass off on the CCA and IOR articles. They were the two hardest things I have ever had to write. But I have run out of subject matter.

When I get some free time I will start my own two magazines following in the footsteps of GOB.
I'll start with POSB ( piece of shit boat) and go onto JAOKB (just an OK boat).
I think there may be a huge market for POSB.
But right now I have my hands full with Violet Spika Perry.

Sailing has nice photos and Bobs reviews are great, but it's an airport layover read at the newsstand...

I'm in the midst of re-reading the Hornblower novels again. It's about a once-a-decade endeavor.

Practical sailor, Profesional boatbuilder and Wooden boat. Though not necessarily in that order.

How could that be anything but great? I failed to mention earlier that Sailing has always been my magazine of choice and I have been to Port Washington (and sailed against Bill S.) more times than I care to remember. It is very cool to have an expert review a boat and mention things that my layman eyes failed to grasp.
