the Ker 40 doesn't have sucha a hard chine, and the carkeek's one is less prominent...

maybe a new TP52 ?

the keel seems to be very forward, and as we don't see bearings on the hull, the rudders might be on the transom....

Would have to second this one, it is the same colour as Cape Fling ( Corby 49 based in Cape Town) owned by Lord Irvine Laidlaw and all of us Capetonians know that he is expecting his new Ker 46 soon.

At first glance, I definitely got excited about the idea of a new Cone because of the color! but didn't they just get a MC38?

Definitely not a new TP52, too small and Azzura is the last one to be built.

By the look of that 3:45 ass ( if you don't get the reference, search for SNL Beauty and the Beast Ass Castle skit with Gerard Butler) it's definitely a Ker design.

Now, the final question of length...through the empirical measurement method of eyeballing, Ker 46

Mr Tuffy,

the first Carkeek40 from McC-China has been racing in the Caribbean already this year.

With regards to the Ker46, seems unplausable as the construction of the hull mould has only started recently AFAIK. The Ker 50 build by Knierim is going from yard, straight onto the keel and then in the water so not sure why that would have such a nice angled storage solution, especially as it is late.

With all this said, not sure what it is

Take a look at the building behind the boat. Notice the door on the left and the panels that make up the building. There are 12 lines from bow to where the gunwale hits the top of the building. That is about the same distance from there to the stern. The beam is about 8 panels. If you use 30- 32" for the door the boat has a beam of 19 ~ 21 feet and LOA of 60 ~ 65 feet. The big black door would be 23 - 24 feet wide (std) so this boat could have come thru it.

Now where did I put those steroids for my i550?

Don't forget that the boat is much closer to the camera than the door frame. Perspective then makes the boat look relatively bigger than objects in the background (have you ever seen one of those pictures where someone in the foreground is holding their hand up such that someone in the background appears to be a little person standing on the outstrecthed hand?)

Having said that however, I did a similar calculation based on some assumptions on the guy in the white suit (who also appears to be behind the cradle rig) and come up with a range of 52' to 58'.

Ker 40 going to Annapolis - New Catapult?

for all those who still question it......it has been fun watching the guessing game but that is now over....enough people have correctly identified it...it is Catapult the Ker 40 ( hull #9 ) coming to Annapolis and then on to the rest of the east coast!

See you on the starting line in mid to late summer.

Actually, while a number of people identified it as a Ker 40, I think only 76Trombones and Photolab named it as "Catapult" heading to Annapolis.
