The cover of one of my jib sheets is badly frayed about 10' from the end, so I can't just cut it off. Is there a way to repair a rope cover? Its a poly double braid.

Buy a cover one size up and sew/burn/whip the new cover over the old. http://www.apsltd.co...-coveronly.aspx

Before you buy another one (or re-cover the frayed one) I'd suggest figuring out what caused it to fray in the first place lest you simply repeat the exercise.

To repair cover:
1. Remove wallet from pocket.
2. Remove approximately $50 in singles leftover from the last trip to the "Ballet".
3. Glue singles over torn area of cover.
4. Figure out after a few minutes of return to service that this was a waste of time.
5. Go to store and buy new line. Problem solved.

If it frayed due to normal use and age, it is not worth repairing.
If it frayed prematuredly, find the problem first.
