I am in SF Bay area and see 15m to go countdown.
Does this mean I will see it or will it go 'live' only to tell me I need to be on NBC?
Have not the proxy hoopjumping yet, just checking if I need to.

Live feed starts in 54 minutes?  http://www.youtube.c...h?v=zY5S66FGfTM

NBC has it scheduled, suggest that if you are doing the DVR thing to record  the show scheduled after it on the DVR box in case the second race starts late

i'm expecting a live feed (from French TV) at http://www.streamhun...her-168773.html

I expect they'll want an app download from me.  On Eurosports (for cycling) I usually wait till the live feed starts in background and then close the app box.  Usually works and no worrying about bugs.   Have you run this site before?

Is anyone else seeing the live feed countdown with the second digit of the seconds off the edge of the screen?

I tried to watch the Saturday races with the Ipad app in SF and was blacked out.  Did anyone else have the same experience?  I had updated the app in the morning before the races.

If you are in SF on a boat, here are some good recommendations on how to best receive NBC, off air, at the America’s Cup venue.

  • NBC broadcasts on channel 11.1 or 11.2 depending on the day.  That corresponds to actual TV channel 12 so if you buy a filter you need a filter for Channel 12.
  • NBC’s transmitter is on Mt San Bruno, which has ok signal strength to the course area, but KGO has a transmitter on Mt Sutro which is very strong and only a few channels away so causes interference.
  • So what you need is a good, omnidirectional, marine, TV antenna, mounted up high in the rigging of the boat.
  • Following that antenna, before any preamp, you will benefit from using a bandpass filter centered on channel 12, which will block the very strong signal from KGO.
  • If you have a long run of coax to the TV, and need a preamp, put the filter and the preamp near the antenna with the preamp on the TV side of the filter.  The preamp must not be on the antenna side of the filter.  Similarly, you should avoid using an “active” antenna that has a built in preamp.
  • Finally you will need a US TV set or at least a US TV tuner.  US TV modulation formats are distinctive (and worse) than those used in other regions.

On the ACRM VIP boats, putting a good TV antenna up high and using a 3303D-12 filter has mostly made the TV work acceptably.  There are still some areas that don’t work but the boat skippers have found that they can move 100m or so and find an area that does work.

Hmmmm... I live here in N. Calif. and have watched live on youtube 720p. We have no cable/sat/antenna TV. The picture quality has been outstanding except for a bit of brief pixalation during race 4.

Like bicycle racing watching the AC via live feed is so much better than watching at the event.

Races 5 + 6 are blacked out in the US.   This is weird, since races 1 + 2 were freely available.  I guess I will just jump on again with the laptop that has stealthy on it, worked great last time this happened.

http://stealthy.co

Really I have to agree with Clean, ACxx has their head up their asses with the complete lack of consistency on  how the races can be viewed.

From FAQs at NBC Sports:

Q: What is required for access to view "Live Streaming" video content?
A: You can access live streams of EVERY NBCSports event, with a cable, satellite or telco TV subscription that includes NBCSN. There is no additional charge for this service, simply login to NBCSports Live Extra using the Username and Password you use on your providers website. If you do not have, or do not know your Login information contact your service provider.

The AC Live Line feed is not blocked, thus you can go to post #6 in today's thread (http://forums.sailin...howtopic=150382) and click on the "AC Live Line" box in the top of the youtube player and watch that feed.

I just got the hola for chrome. First the races were blocked, then with hola, it's not.

Someone posted these instructions:

Once installed, an icon appears on the chrome's menu/address toolbar. On mine it is right next to the three dashes that you use to get the drop-down menu. The icon is rather funny -- a little smiling head on fire.

In any event, once you get to AC's youtube page and get the notice that the race is not available in you country, click on the flaming head. A window should appear indicating that you are viewing the website from the United States (has a little flag icon). There is a drop-down menu to choose another country.  There are probably 20 to choose from. I chose the UK.  Hola unblocker then works its magic to make it look like you are watching from the UK which for me worked swimmingly.

Was it live @ YouTube yesterday?  Today?

Had to watch replay yesterday but have time today.  Hola does work w/o a load of crap coming aboard?

During past week I tried one of those French TV links someone posted here and that was garbage.  Video came with all sorts of popups in middle of screen I couldn't close out.  It also downloaded a browser which was a hassle to track down all parts and delete out.

Found a little trick today, it only checks the geo restrictions when it initially loads.  So if you enable a proxy first load the video and the turn the proxy off, you get the speed of you local connection.  With most of the proxys watching in HD just was not happening.  Watched all of todays racing on youtube in high quality with no issues.

What the whole fuck ??

Fuck you ellison, fuck you youtube.

How could i watch it all real easily until today and then get country blocked (I'm in the US)

I'm possibly being dumb here but I have a mac and firefox, went to hola clicked firefox for mac it said it downloaded it. I didn't get any fire logo to click on to pretend I'm german. The browser looks just like it did before. After it said it was installed I went to youtube and it told me me to go fuck myself, albiet using different words.   I thought they said this cup was going to be for spectating, cunts

Look Both of you need to click the same box so it "CAN" work

Get to here - google how

then enable = Be Sure to un-check when not needed

Good thing we're getting this all solved at the 1/2 way point of the racing :)

Installing add-ons is not always straightforward. You should have the up to date browser - either ff or chrome. Then you should practice installing add-ons. And the browser needs to be restarted after install. If you have problems, you should try to get familiar with googling for answers like these... Enter as many words as you can that are actually relevant, including the name of the browser and the full names of the add-ons. And most popular add-ons have many imitators that are named similarly...

Some one posted https://www.tunnelbear.com/ it's great. Easy to install, first monthly 500 mb is free. Just run the app, turn it on, select a different country, refresh the YouTube page with "restricted in your country", and when the feed starts, turn it off to save the free data. Will continue to play really well in full hd.

I have this thing called a smart phone.

I found this cool free App called Americas Cup Official.

I watched both races live on Sunday, in the United States, via the App.

I found out about it via the Cruisers Forum App.

I just got the hola for chrome. First the races were blocked, then with hola, it's not.

http://hola.org/

Thanks. Downloaded Chrome and Hola today and it worked just fine except 720p was halty, but I suppose that was my internet connection. I didn't get to Hong Kong on my last visit to China so it was nice to "be there" today.

Anyone know how to get an audio stream to a mobile device in the US? will the app do just audio? I'll be on the road and can either plug my phone into the truck or listen to siriusxm. I don't think it will be broadcast on XM but I could be wrong?

For todays fans hoping to watch on television on NBC Sports in the US:

Even though NBC has pulled the live feed from the television, they do have it available as a live web feed from their website.

You just need to provide your password from your carrier (e.g. Dish Network) in my case.

races are mislabeled on youtube  Races 15 and 16...instead of 16 / 17....

probably because this event is "best of 17 races" so they change the names of the races so that the numbers work out correctly

Maybe they should stick around and perfect the process with the BB Series and the M 24 worlds. I'm now spoiled and want to watch regattas this way all the time! I've been watching the coverage of the Little America's Cup as well and wish (not that Clean and crew aren't trying their hardest) that it was covered like this.

Imagine the BBS and M 24 worlds with this coverage!!! I'd be happy to sit in my igloo and be "armchair tactician"!!!
