There will be wind.

Varying from 0-100 knots.

There will be current. Going either N, S, E and or W.

There shouldn't be anything relating to my image. But who knows.

one thing guaranteed about the great race is that the boxing day Chanel 7 race coverage will only consist of 2 or maybe 3 boats.

Will the forecast favour the quicker or slower boats. It would be useful to start optimising the rating now.

I understand sunfish can influence Aussie yacht races. Any news on their migration patterns.

Brilliant, couldn't agree more!!

The media coverage really is a slap in the face to the other 99% of crews who battle it out each year to get down to Hobart!

I guess the average Aussie just wants to see the big "fast" boats!

With you on this one. Mark Richards is another AUS legend who has achieved SO much.................a decent current V70 would beat them with a good crew. And it just may happen.

Cough (Wild Thing) cough?

Guess they will be entering and have to make a last minute dash to make the start and will make some media statement by only going with 6 crew and 4 sails, but will retire before bass straight with mast damage.

Hey guys,

Looking at heading down to Hobart again (I live in Tassie anyway) and doing some reporting again.

Last year was fairly last minute, well actually I had no idea I was going to do it but after the success of the thread I'm going down a bit more organised.

Was going to try to get a dinghy but I think it will be better from the shore and I will have a laptop with internet and my own binos this time!!

Unfortunately the chances of another finish like that are fairly slim but I'll be there anyway.

Would love to see Clifford show them how it's done, esp. if we got a downhill one. Even better will be the SA pundits crapping on about how to rate the thing.

Australia has been the last resting place of a lot of x Volvo boats so maybe Clifford will come here.

In the current Yachting World. €1.35 mill euros.

Lying Alicante.

Also in YW is NZ Endeavour. Winner of 'Sidney to Hobart'. Bit of history for a cool €210,100

That was a typo - it was rice snacks.

That's how rumours start.

With you on this one. Mark Richards is another AUS legend who has achieved SO much.................a decent current V70 would beat them with a good crew. And it just may happen.

Would love to see Clifford show them how it's done, esp. if we got a downhill one. Even better will be the SA pundits crapping on about how to rate the thing.

Shame Rambler 100 is not still around to show them all the way home!

As she is sitting in a shed in Portsmouth, it certainly is fantasy. And as there is no evidence either way it will always be conjecture. as to which boat would win!

Innovative Composites (formerly Sydney yachts) working frantically on the replacment, should be ready to go in late next week in time for LI-BB race. Very disappointing result for us, given that at the 100nm mark, we were on the pace (for a little yacht). I wonder how many more tests & ordeals we must endure before we start in the big one! :o
