not even a Tiger ? ? ?

current Sail-World.com whale article

" Less fortunate was a sports boat that possibly drew attention to the presence of the giant creatures by coming into contact with them. The boat and crew ended up on South head with the authorities marshalling quickly to aid the sailors and retrieve the boat from the rocks. "

is there no limit to what nthnhemis 'pretend sportsboats' will do to disguise there inadequacies and vast displacement

the clock is ticking to who this was

It was an SB3, not purple princess but another one,
It looked like they'd just gone up when I noticed them about 300m ahead close hauled stbd tack into the southerly, 100m south of the last regular break on south head
not far from Lady Bouy mark
not sure what went wrong but it seemed to me like they got a bit close and surfed in to the rocks,
we called the cavalry for them and watched on as the crew got onto dry rock safely
the waves in there were breaking at well over a metre, very nasty spot to get caught.
Took over 20 min for the first rescue craft to get on the scene and at 3 least rescue boats were still trying to figure out how to get them off over an hour later, with the tide falling.
not sure what a steam boat 3 is worth but after that pounding there might be one less around I'm thinking

a very strong boat indeed. but surely this proves its gone too far!

on the other hand i have the dubious honour of going head to head in a sword (mast) fight with one of these and winning.

had a look myself yesterday, theres one good puncture on the side and a few other spots where the foam has been squished, half a rudder, some miscellaneous kite material, and a pretty smashed up bulb
Yeah I hear what you're saying about overbuilt, I guess they all are until they hit the bricks to some extent.
Interesting to see how they laid up the rudder blade when constructing it, carbon up the sides in 3 inch strips and not much else anywhere else
