It was at least a week...in a very warm part of our house.

I have had good luck with butyl over the years, and being as this is a compression seal I think the fact that it never really "sets up" might be an advantage.

Thread bump-
Just bought an old Pilothouse Sailboat that has some similar issues. Wondering if the project has resumed?

Is it spring in Ontrario yet? We had a totally schizoid weekend with 30 kts of wind, rain sleet and snow on Saturday and a beautiful calm and suny Sunday. Temps barely made it to 10C (50F).

Here's the progress today...the lites are caulked in with Sikaflex. Once they have cured I'll mask and paint the perimeter and paint it a smooth edge.
As far as spring...it's warm, then it snows, then it rains, then it snows...I give up trying to figure out what tomorrow will bring. It is what it is.

Very Nice! It makes me hopeful for my, soon to be attempted, endeavor.

I noticed the swim platform on the transom. Looks nice. Is it one of the platforms from Stainless Outfitters? One of these years I will put a platform on the transon of the IP.

That is from Stainless Outfitters. Good eye.
John's people do a great job...I wanted a small platform that carried the hull profile. They did a really good job.
