two sail reaching? Where is the kite? You'd have some 'stones' if you had hoisted the kite on the VX...

What about 505 smashes Melges 32..... The VX guys did a great job we gave them a start but could not get them even after 3.45 hrs congrats but not sure it fits as a sports boat do we now have sports dinghys for the sb20's vipers vx's etc time will tell

The breeze was gusting over 30knots in the video and we were pretty deep just to keep her upright and doing 18 to 19knots. When we got down to the Melges we were able to hold their line and open up more on the way to the mark. Our crew weight was 203kg. Our ballast was my forward hands 13 year old daughter who weighed 45kg. The VX One is different to other sportsboats but we have carried an outboard and met Australian Category 5 Safety so we could sail against yachts in Hamilton Island Race Week.

i was sailing in the youth championships that day, it was crazy, the next 2 days of the regatta the VX just sailed around the fleet, awesome looking boat

Upwind the bigger boats are faster. A few weekends ago we paced the Etchells fleet upwind on Sydney Harbour. When it is over 15 knots our VMG is pretty close. We are a bit faster & lower. In less than 15 knots our height drops significantly compared to Etchells. In the Heaven Can Wait the Melges 32 and the 40 footers got past us when we were beating into 25 to 30 knots. We had the jib furled for the majority of this as we just had too much rag up.

I just purchased the boat last summer (2008), put all new Quantum Fusion sails on the boat along with a new .6 airex spin. <br /><br />Hope to give the boat a new paint job for this season.<br /><br />As luck would have it I did not get to race the boat in any 12 plus Knot winds in my first summer with the boat. I managed to be else where not racing when there was strong breeze racing here last summer. I can't wait to race the boat in 15 plus knots.

Sorry Slaps, it's a cool ride, has some lead and all, very dinghyish, but it aint, it's just a lot of fun with little effort. I haven't gone darkside, just loving when I get a sail.

Clean jerk is me.
Clean and Jerk is the weightlifting move, and 135 pounds wouldn't be easy for most people. The heaviest I could ever hit was 296 lbs, and that was when I was lifting 6x a week and could deadlift 455 and squat 405
