Plenty of apps can receive NMEA over WiFi, but are there any Apps that can send NMEA over WiFi or BlueTooth?
I can't think of any reason why it can't be done - position, SOG and COG could come from the iPhone GPS, and heading could come from the compass.
One might, for example, use it as a way to get position information to a laptop.
I think position can be sent (although not in NMEA) from an iPhone to a PC via the cable, but I am interested in a WiFi or BlueTooth solution.

I have the Shipmodul multiplexer (2-Wi). It sends NMEA info to the iPad but also has a usb port for a computer- it needs it in order to program the multiplexer but also sends all its info to the usb port. It only allows one device at a time to connect over wifi, I think.

maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how that will get the iphone GPS and compass to the laptop
