Need some local info. I'm bringing my new tartan to dinner Key Marina this weekend. It has a 5'10" draft . Can i get through the Bascayne Bay Channel and if not what's the best way into Biscayne Bay ? Rig is too tall for intercoastal so I'm entering from the ocean.

I don't know about the navigation but is the Nixon/Scarface house still standing? If it is and you go over don't tie up to the concrete pier. Somebody not very nice looking will shoo you off.

You should be fine using any of the marked channels into the bay. The boat I used to regularly race on has a 5' 6" daggerboard and we got through the channels just fine.

I sail there every week. Biscayne Channel should be fine, but don't cut corners entering the channel, round the "2" to starboard and stay in the channel, straight over to dinner key channel and then following the channel in to the marina. The water outside the dinner key channel, especially to the north is pretty thin, we have bounced on the bottom there and we draw 4' 6", so stay in the channel.

Biscayne Bay
Where the Cuban gentlemen sleep all day
I went searching for the song
you used to sing to me
Katy lies
you could see it in her eyes
