That looks like handy stuff. We have used a plastic grating kinda stuff in the past and it made a huge difference.

This stuff is great. We installed it under our cushions in the forward berth and have had *zero* problems with condensation since.

Thats the way guys. There are specialist shippers to Oz over there for all the Ebayers. US delivery address, will hold to make a "shipping " package and send.

Most stuff is free shipping to the continental.

Looks like the price is about the same after some rough calulations there is only $6 between them & not much in the exchange rate at the moment- do you think the US stuff looks like better quality?

I have no idea on quality, I guess plastic is plastic.

We just want to stay cool in Queensland, so whatever it costs .
I suspect transport of stuff with that amount of volume from the US would not be cheap.
I would go for the Oz stuff as well.

Are you just using foam for the mattress, or is there something that breathes as well?

We are just upgrading from foam to "Springs fully insulated with extra deep ultra density premium plus foam". We use the boat most wekends & will retire on it probably. We ended up with the bottom of the foam being a bit soggy in QLD last year.

Clark Rubber have something called ACS10 160 wide $115 metre - I haven't actually seen it but it sounds like its the right thing

This is a hilarious example of "marine" products pricing versus more terrestrial applications. It's actually called Enkadrain and costs less than $1.50 a square foot - used for foundation drainage it's pretty much the state of the art.

I've got a 150'x5' (45x1.6m) roll in my garage. Not sure what shipping would cost to AUS - it's about .5m in diameter...

The version I have is 1.6m wide - perfect for a queen-size berth. The newest version is made of recycled HDPE - mine was the pure stuff - suitable for a virgin berth. ;-)

Enkadrain 9120 is what I see on a US price sheet - 0.8" (2 cm thick). comes in 1x30m rolls. $1.21/ft2; roughly $300 per roll. Don't think 1/4" will allow enough air to circulate.
