Ah, a gradual lessening of confidence by undermining. Sounds like a politician in the house.
SO how does that unspeakable stove of yours survive?:)/>
Part of the interview before you're allowed a shotgun license covers that very subject.
Any pissed off woman with a gun is scary...especially if it's a shotgun....and bet more then half of em, aim at the same spot.....
"Now Sir, as a responsible owner you will be required to ensure your gun is locked in its cabinet and no one else has access to the keys"
"Understood"
"That includes your wife, not just yours, but all wives. We're sick of dealing with pissed off wives waving shotguns around"
"Thanks for the warning"
I learnt a good lesson that day.
ALL of the guns in our house belong to ME and I am a most excellent shot. Don't need no stinkin' shotgun. Just sayin'. :D/>
As much as I'm tempted, I'd be the one to clean up the mess. The cleaner death by mis-electrocution is still the plan. My previous messing with the wiring has produced some sporadic power outages and the Old Man's lessening confidence in its infallability...
And there is always a good old cleaning accident, bleach or gun.
Not a gun cleaning accident then?

I actually like Wendy's chili. Not as good as homemade - but it was awesome on a cold day after flying. I haven't had it in 10 years - but it used to be really good.

he said, "Sure I'm kinda overwhelmed by this mess right now but as soon as I get this....." DEAD PHONE..!!
No answer on call back.
So, as we didn't know if he was moving an engine block off a shelf or just happened to hit the off switch, the rest of us loaded in the truck and heded to the other guy's shop.
Nothing, his battery had died.

Unless I miss the translation you're in the lineup at the right spot for the 10 footers - which is a very big wave - and you look out as the set comes in and there is a mucher bigger wave which is feathering across the top so you know it's going to break before it gets to you, washing your sorry ass all the way to the beach thus negating the 30 minute paddle out you just did to get outside the impact zone. So you paddle like a manic out to try and beat the break and get outside again. At the end of the 30 or 45 second all out sprint paddle you are at the wave pushing up the face nearly vertical, inches away from getting over the top and the wave pitches out pulling you over the falls and into the rinse cycle with a 8 foot board leashed to your leg and you tumble all the way to the beach trying to dodge the board that is doing the kick your ass dance all the way. When you finally get to the beach, can breath again and turn to look out at the break, all you see is 10 foot lines uninterupted all the way to the horizon and realize you're looking at another 30 minute paddle to get outside again. I usually decide God is telling me my session is over.

Easy one. I told my wife this after a bad dream and she started laughing - then stopped and said Oh NO WAY why did you tell me that? Now its one of her big fears too!
Her brothers 4 kids showing up on our front door step needing parents and a roof over their head. Best description I could give is last time I was visiting I taught his two oldest kids they sleep between the sheets on the bed not ontop of them! Culture shock moving them to California would be the makings of a Epic Reality TV show even drinkable water from the tap would be a shock to them. Sad but true
Where do they live now without drinkable water etc.?

I always used to think being paralysed would be the worst thing that could happen. Now I reckon being blind would be worse.Being on dialysis, paralyzed, or having ALS. Or the prospect of Alzheimer's/dementia, but by then you don't really know/care.
If you had to choose between paralysis and blindness, which would you take, and why?

I guess the theme behind my fears is: loss of control of surroundings, loss of the mind which makes us human, and the suffering of my family/society should they have to care for me in that unnatural state. Anybody with similar concerns as me should make sure he has a living will, discussed preferences with family, etc. I'm my own 'death panel' so my family doesn't have to be saddled with that decision in a tough time. $100k/yr in nursing home care, plus $infinity in ICU/hospital care, whether it's my money or insurance/govt/medicare's, would be better spent putting a bunch of deserving kids through college or something.

Japan tunnel collapse traps cars

Police officers and firefighters gather at the exit of the Sasago Tunnel in central Japan Sunday morning. Police said that parts of the tunnel collapsed, trapping an unknown number of vehicles as smoke from a fire inside prevented rescuers from approaching
Kyodo News/The Associated News
TOKYO—Parts of a tunnel collapsed Sunday on a highway west of Tokyo, trapping an unknown number of vehicles as smoke from a fire inside initially prevented rescuers from approaching.
Video footage from cameras inside the tunnel, after the fire was apparently extinguished, showed firefighters picking their way through cement roof panels that collapsed onto vehicles inside the Sasago Tunnel, about 80 kilometres from the city.
About 25 vehicles were inside the 4.3-kilometre tunnel, some of them trucks stopped by the tunnel’s collapse.
A police spokesman said they were still seeking details about the situation inside the tunnel.
Police vehicles, fire trucks and ambulances were massed outside the tunnel’s entrance. A man who said he saw the collapse and alerted authorities to the emergency told NHK television he managed to escape after he was ordered to flee.
The roof and windows of another vehicle parked on the roadside outside the tunnel were crushed, and the injured occupants reportedly taken to a hospital.
