The often aberrant behaviour we tolerate good humouredly from our neighbours across the pond appears to be reaching critical levels, possibly from the heavy solar flare storms this year. The New Zealand nautical clothing manufacturer, Events Clothing, has a new sailing shirt that features crushed crystals, mainly jade, within the polyester filaments. They say " the healing properties of crystals is widely known, but the crystals also disperse the heat from the body, bringing a cooling effect and offer UV protection. Jade itself is known to cure kidney stones and all kidney illnesses. It is also claimed to bring luck and help win games. " Hope the IRC scrutineers are on to this outside assistance.
This is a PA thread in the making. Methinks it should be moved pre-emptively.

Keen Interest Without Intelligence . And an AC sailor told me that at AC '95. Too funny.
I have many kiwi "mates" that would sail to hell and back with them; and all with the usual black humour.
If you haven't seen this you have to:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0412080/
It describes the kiwi psyche to a tee.
And a great film regardless.

They might have better luck among sailors with a shirt that cures liver issues.
That said, if it's glittery, I'll probably buy it. You know, for my kidneys...

Many of my best sailing friends are Kiwis, great sailors, great attitude to life and genuine almost to a fault - you know where you stand with them.

Bumped into a lot of them after they won the Cup in S/Diego years ago. Every one of them was funny, gracious, nice....and drunker than fuk. That's the week I realized that I was still just an amateur drinker....

It's a rather broad question. Would I trust a kiwi with;
My Rum - No
My girlfriemd - No
My livestock - No
Building my boat - Yes
My life offshore - Yes (most anyway)
Same here. No question. To all the above.K.I.W.I.
I have many kiwi "mates" that would sail to hell and back with them; and all with the usual black humour.
But I sure would never ask them for advice on my wardrobe!
