[Great Red Shark]

Don't know if I missed another mention of it - couldn't find any via search, but.. I see that over the weekend our dear old friend Fred Smales passed over the bar.

I don't know of anyone that has given more back, or promoted the sport of sailing like Fred & Connie - they loved sailing so very much that they gave back more time and energy than you could imagine sponsoring youth programs and supporting junior racing here and across the country.

The past few years were very rough on Fred & Connie, but the struggles are done now, may Fred find the fair winds he so well deserves and my thoughts are all with Connie - losing a spouse is always difficult.

Thanks for all you did, Fred. Sail on.

Wow! Huge loss for sailing this year Charlie Dole and Fred Smales and Dan Doyle.. Fred and Charlie were the original members of Waikiki Yacht Club, both istrumental in the star class and Transpac.
