I am adding Garmin radar & KVH V3 antennas on a 37' boat and decided the stern mast is the way to go. Initially I wanted carbon, easily removable but CF seems to create lots of issues when you start bolting hardware to it. I have emailed a two suppliers to see what they offer.

I use an aluminum spin pole section slipped into a bracket on the stern that also serves as the emergency rudder bracket. Slips out quickly when not in use. The hardest part is stowing the radar cable after removal.
