It was a great race on the M32 winds were all over the place around 4-20knts. Not much carnage. the Zebra Cat hit something and had to pull up on the rocks, another Cat broke their sprit and I saw a E27 come in less a mast...all in all another fun run but we were undone by the smaller boats.....now a few aspirin for this hangover then I'll mow the lawn!

Did the Zebra F18 hit something and daggerboard trunk break? Heard one hull was under water and he as up against rocks.

where did he finish?

Behind 2nd F18 and in front of Lightspeed 32.

Race won by 20' boat, next two were 22', not sure why, maybe they brought the wind with them, or just great rating. Lots of fun, nice day, great race.

Seemed like once Goldsberry got further up the Delta, he was a bit hampered by weeds and eel grass. Saw him tip it over quite a few times just to clear the foils. But when he was up, he was cruising. 70 miles on a moth- that's a good days work!

We saw him doing something with the foils near Vallejo, then he took off.  The dismasted E27 tied up next to us, overheard they were driven into a mark by a Corsair.

It was my first ditch run, driving my friend's old (but new to him) Capri 25.  Broke our tiller and bent the spinnaker pole, but managed a 3rd in class.  It's quite a race, lot different than anything I've ever done in SoCal.  Heard from my friend today sailing down the river, he's holed up at Pirates Lair, winds were apparently gusting in the 40s today.

Just enough wind at the start to give us enough power to keep the current from pulling us over the line before our start.  The hole near Vallejo was brutal due to the heat, then wind built thru the afternoon.

The Zebra hit a submerged piling or tree stump at full speed within the channel at mark 5... took out the leeward trunk, dagger board and rudder. Boat barely slowed down on impact. Got kite down, managed to jibe quickly on a single set of foils -getting to the levy seconds before the port hull sank and laid to rest in about 4 feet of water. Managed to lasso the sunken hull to a RIB and slowly got to the nearest boat ramp a few miles up river. Tuttle was on speed dial and ready for the undertaking. The boat will get the full Waterat treatment. Should be better than original for next year.

Anyone know if they're sailing with traps?

One person from the club was found dead in the harbor. PD has the scoop.

"We are being told that one of the long time members of the Stockton Sailing Club,
Nolan Noe Goodman's body was recovered in the harbor this evening after disappearing
last night, and not being located this morning.

More when we find out...."

More questions:

Anyone know what Navasana is out of Ventura YC?:  Seems they scored the overall win, if i'm reading the score sheet correctly, (under the totals column).

Does Flight Risk have a really punitive rating?

Could be Deke Klatt's boat (I see that it the owner is listed as Dave Paudler, Deke's compatriot for so many campaigns). He reworked something small and lightweight the last few years.

It's listed as a "Mull 22" in the entry list.  Probably an old Pocket Rocket based on the rating.

Glad you got it out of there.  That photo was ugly!  If I get down to SoCal this August and it's back sailing, maybe I could snag a ride?  My Multi23 should be out of the shop by the end of the month - so I can reciprocate!

That is what happens when you sail a one off too well in the same fleet as the local PHRF handicapper....you get taken to the principal's office.

Navasana is the first  cold molded wood Mull 22.

My Pyramid 660 rates 96 in SF.

This is why we were on the 22 plus the 22 is a whole lot bigger, drier, and more comfortable.

David found the boat in the Sailing Anarchy Classifieds in Alameda.

We Looked at the boat during the Western Regionals last year and before leaving on Sunday he owned a new to him Mull 22.

The primary use is for Wet Wednesday racing.

and if Hitchhiker wants you can buy my Pyramid.
