Did a search and did not find any mention of this. Yvan Bourgnon and Vincent Beauvarlet are planning a circumavigation on a 6.3 meter catamaran without a cabin.

Departing Oct 5, 2013

What are the odds they make it? My guess is fatigue will be tough to overcome on the longer legs.

I love hearing about the harebrained French schemes, especially because I can never really understand what the article says.

Bourgnon has been racing those little cats for ages, he can probably sleep in harness more comfortably than a bunk. No idea about the other guy. Could be a fast trip if they're luck, but it sounds impossible, a body can only take so much pounding by tons on tons of seawater. I guess 30-to-1.

Getting through Suez and the pirates could an issue on top of all the other issues.

Hope this doesn't end badly.

I'd imagine they'd be we'll funded with chase boat for that stretch

How much water, food and gear can they carry and still sail? The logistics don't make sense to me.

I think this'll be a massive fail.

Gonna need more than a chase boat for that distance........................and that's before they bump into any locals.
