Technically William's last name is Mountbatten-Windsor but even that is a dodge as Prince Philip was born Philip Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (Mountbatten was his Mum's surname which he addopted to please the British) which would make his name William Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg-Windsor.

Then as the Queen's birth name should have been Elizabeth Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (changed to Windsor by King George during WW1), William's last name (and that of his son) would have been Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg-Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Which sounds like a hell of a legal firm.

Actually, technically his last name is Windsor, though both William and Harry (as well as Prince Andrew) use their title as their surname (William Wales, Harry Wales, Andrew Essex).

It is only non-titled (not referred to as HRH) members of the Firm who use the surname Mountbatten-Windsor.
