Whoa, I linked to the thread from the front page and you linked me back there from the thread, the time-space continuum is about to unravel !

Seriously - nice looking boat - the design and construction quality look pretty good, well done. If it sails as good as it looks you may very well have something there.

I look forward to seeing more pics as you commission and sea trial, please keep us appraised when you can. Are you hoping to produce the design in series ? It looks good enough to, and that's an interesting market niche. Who designed it ?

Best luck, keep up the good work.

I think this is really cool.  Something that can be launched and retrieved single handed if required.  and if you can have sitting head room good as an overnighter.

I dunno.  Its not comfy enough to sleep in underway I suspect.  And if you are going to do the "camping" gig, I think that having a nicely thought out boom tent, complete with a deck that gutters any rain away, is more the way to go:  its lighter for one, and it lets you do things like have a deck sweeping self-tacking jib for performance.  This is one of the great things about a Hobie 16:  run it up onto the beach,  open the dry bag, pop out the boom tent and camping stove and Bob's your Uncle. - a very comfy bed (particularly for the Horizontal Mambo).

So personally I think I'd rather have i550. I know its 3' longer, but that makes a big diff

So you're saying we can sleep in this sucker? I'm 6' long lying down. I can't sleep in a T7 so if I can in your 14'er then maybe it's not a sports boat.

This design would have succeeded, maybe even kicked arse, when the Hartley TS16 first came on the scene.

And anyway, we might be all the same height lying down but if there's not room for one on top well, as they say, if it's not worth shagging in, it's not worth sleeping in.

I've been thinking about this boat.  Put an unstayed cat rig on it and you've got a fun, singlehanded overnighter that I can store in my side yard.  Hmmmm........I guess that should go into a different forum, tho.

Not that uni-rigs are the answer to everyone's sailing needs, but the tall cabin would give you a nice long step to the keel if you did so.

I still think you'd want the jib though.

I like it a lot. Please don't put a bulb on the keel. Some of like to be able to beach a boat.

I figure by the time you  put sails on it, ship it to the USA, paid pay duties and taxes, and put it on a trailer you're talking about $15,000-$17,000.

440 lbs with 132 lbs of ballast seems pretty good. doesn't look like it has a bulb in the drawing. I was shocked that the cost of such a small boat could be 250,000 til I realized that was rubles, which right now is around $7600.

Fuck, $7600? I'll take two

Not real sportboat, check. But it looks like it would sail fairly well, and it costs only a bit more than a Laser! WTF are we doing wrong here???

....why do you take the trailer out?

It is just because I brought the boat on my own trailer, and the customer ordered for himself cheaper trailer, in his city, but yet didn't receive it. We pulled out my trailer, having lifted the boat on luggage belts, and the boat temporarily put on a cradle. It is the second boat of series. Now production of the third comes to an end, and the fourth boat is begun.

The first boat was sent to the customer for 2400 kilometers, to the lake Seliger. The second - 1000 kilometers - on the Volga River, to the Samara city. The third will go also to Volga, to the Tolyatti city, it is close to Samara.

.....this boat has my vote** for anarchist design of the year!!

.....lovely little boat,,very resourceful..........I can't believe it--a 15' cabin cruiser that looks like it sails well!!

....I can't wait to see....a video of the boat,,in a stronger breeze ,with chute....it looks like it should be good!

.......and a fleet of 'em racing

**...for whatever that's worth

nemo,,,I was noticing your mainsheet,,you cold have a 3' 'strop' from the boom down to ~deck-level.

......you'd save some rubles on rope,,but also makes handling better,,less rope to pull! ;)

...congratulations on the front-page love!!

...just keep the strop height a bit short of deck-level,,so the upper mainsheet blocks so they don't bang-up the deck,,all will be gooder!...........a ruble saved is a ruble earned!!! :)

...I'm suggesting you hang the boom-blocks of the mainsheet on a 2-3' strop--it'll shorten your sheet for the same adjustment

So, who came up with the name of "Sputnik"? I got a deal. I pay for all drinks on this side and I can stay drunk as long as want to on the another side. Ekaterinburg is my hometown, It's time to visit motherland I guess. I'm in Phila area, I visit NYC often.

Yes, I understand your twisted thoughts, I am just the same.
I asked my good friend living in the States thank the person who invented the name for a boat. CrazyR veteran races Watertribe.

Fresh photo of interior. Worked loaded with finishing boards carpet, soft pillows, and many other useful pieces, but until all the customers choose a cost-effective package.

Grey boat-sixth. We think make a version without the cab, in the future.

Now we are working on the restyling of the existing deck

It looks like a really interesting boat for cheap training and match racing. How do they stack in a 40' container nemo?

Actually, we even did not expect, how to place a boat in containers. I think, in a 40-foot container fits 4 boats.

...Nemo,,is it not time for some more sputnick15 winter sailing?!? :) ...

......tell me some details of that adventure....  did you have brakes and motor somehow attached?

...........there are times when I see the boat goes forward,,but the mainsail is flapping---maybe just -lots of wind

..but early in the movie,,it looks like an engine is perhaps being connected?..~:14?

......and how is braking and turns on Ekaterinburg's winter roads--I'd imagine there'd be some unusual side-force on the tires--have you considered using metal studded tires for the winter ice??

....I watch this film 3x a day,,,just soooo many questions!!!

Russia is a big country. :) Shooting took place in Moscow. Guys rode on the boat of the national class. I'll try to find out the details.

The coolest episode of the movie - where they drove past the incredibly surprised man and shout him: "Dude! Dude!"
