Hey,

Google is struggling to give me an answer, so this is probably a long shot: Is there any place in the world where the temperatures is not that bad in january/february, and it would be possible to rent 2-4 F18's  for 3-4 days?

There is a spot in El Nido in the Philippines that has a few Hobie Tigers and Wildcats.  Talk to user "F-18 5150", he worked there for a while helping them get setup.  Wildwind sailing resort in Greece also has a bunch of cats you can use, as well as lots of dinghies http://wildwind.co.uk/.  If you are looking for a training weekend, you could also talk to the Sarasota Sailing Squadron- they have a club owned fleet of F18s and F16s and you may be able to work out some sort of arrangement.

What are you hoping to do?

El Nido Adventure Sports, In El Nido Palawan Philippines has 2 Tigers, 2 Wildcats, and 3 F-18 rigged H-18's. The sailing there is awesome and there is a reef you ned to walk out but once in the bay you can sail for hours in warm clear water and stop on small islands for a bite to eat or chill on a white sand beach.

They are still in the set up process of building the resort but the area is beautiful and people are great.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=XwIYNeb6PdY Tradewinds Regatta (Florida Keys) has moved down the road a mile or two but is always on MLK weekend, mid-January. Red Gear is always there and offers a training/racing/accomodations/boat charter package. Probably the best deal you'll ever get dollar for dollar. Just be advised they sell out quickly.

Thanks for all the great tips! Not sure where we'll end up yet, though, still a good while left.

We (me and a few friends) live in the more northern parts of the world, and while ice sailing is fun - it's really not the same as salt water. So, basically, just looking for loads of fun and not freezing to death in the process.

We've usually chartered cruisers in different parts of the world, but it really is way too slow and too easy.
