I am looking for apparel. I have some Gill gear. What do people use dinghy gear or inshore racing gear. Pants or salopettes , Smock or jacket ?

Most folks seem to sail in shorts and spray tops for the majority of the year.  Might see pants in Mid Winter.  You will get warm on the downhills in pants the rest of the year.  Not wet enough.  Pants in San Fran though...

Pussies wear pants in SF. Shorts, couple of layers under the spraytop and it's game on! Our midwinters are the warmest sailing we get here!

Oh you'll do well with the stylish apparel at West Marine.

And be sure to get yerself a Mount Gay Cap so it will look like you know what you're doin.

Have fun out there and don't forget to use the brakes when you are near another boat.
