Knowing Bob and Max as I do, I wish we had met.  We could have talked about scooters, vans, and fighting.  I bet it would have been fun.

Happy Birthday, Spike.

Thor:

Thanks for the post on the Martins. I guess it's too late to take my OM back and trade it for a 000.

But the way she describes the louder more brilliant tone of the OM is exactly the reason I like it.

Never really thought aboiut neck scale that way. It's good to learn something new every day.

Now I know what "OM" stands for.

Bob,

Had dinner in town this evening with Mrs Sox. I rarely drink beer when dining but tonight I had a solitary bottle of Dr Heineken while she quaffed the house red.

The Heineken was for Spike, for you, for my own baby brother and for so many others. Including me.

Funny, nobody in the restaurant had a clue about the virtual party going on in my head. The party that you started. Thanks for the invite. I am honoured.

Sox:

No problem. We can do it again next year.

I had to know myself. All this OO, OOO, OM, Grand Concert, Grand Auditorium, etc, gets confusing.

You, BJ, and WHL are largely responsible for my rekindled interest in guitars by the way. More like an addiction, really. Been leveling and crowning frets, tweaking truss rods, looking up tutorials on you tube, etc. ever since the first Spike Memorial/CA gathering.

I'd keep that OM too.

Donn:

No doubt you and Spike would have gotten along great. With your eclectic interests and adventurous spirit I can see the two of you chatting for hours. Nobody else would understand what was going on but that's life.

Spike and AMATI Paul had their own language. The references were so esoteric that pedestrian types like me could only stand by and wonder what they were discussing.

Olaf:

Thanks for that.

If it's Ok with the rest of you I think I'd like to close this thread now.

A fine rye, raised to memory, and to vision, both eternal.
