pretty interesting, some are not firing

Shaws proving they're as fast as their rating suggests ! 2 on the leaderboard had a sensational day,

this is proving a classic design

Raptor great looker except that her bum gets destroyed with the black treatment. So what is the final wash up with this design  Is it  a four way mixed design or what. ?   It seems Brendan keeps a very low profile generally  but what is whos theirs his of this design. The applied rig looks great and a nice square top main /jib balance but does it cop a big hit in the numbers, still it looks more responsive and not heeling like many others, Its gotta be faster !!

The Stig's Audi Driving Cousin takes the title with a perfect score after a drop. Well done to Dave Ellis and crew from RYCV. 2nd on a countback to Andrew Waugh and crew on Zippier to Barely Legal - great effort by all & esp the interstate crews who got to the CYCA for the weekend.

Who are the 4 people you are talking about? Brendan, Al C, Mark and ? I think the wash up is, it certainly is fast, I watched the last couple of races at Geelong, wow. Was in a different league to Kiss.

Strange it hasn't been sold yet. Is it just too over the top for most?

Congrats to all the racers - looks like some great fun - well done to Shaw 650 Stig's Audi Cousin of course for the win too, and a commiserations shout out to Barely Legal for 3rd on countback (always someone has to come out slightly worse with a bloody countback!)!

Good pic of the mighty P*Star cranking along....thanks for that GS!

:-) Actually, seeing this picture makes me a little sad, as I loved her so much when she was mine and I do miss sailing the red beast...anyhow the new owner is really looking after her well (other than changing her name which I understand as she who must be obeyed does control the budget for sailing).

Great Shot Beth Morley :_)

Dear Beff - there are some AWESOME shots that really capture the fun of sailing sportsboats; awesome effort & thanks for spending the time out on the water behind the camera, so the sailors can see how they look in front of it.

.

apparently not,  afa i've heard

she is 8.5 mtr long, only boat built out to the asba box length

It's said the rig is of a size off a shorter 8mtr boat,  in which case it would not push the rating buttons 'above unity'

aside from that unconfirmed info the fact that it can win under SMS indicates no 'big hits' ?

____________________________________________________________________________

I think a similar but more to the point Question might be what 'rating hit', for want of a better description,  is the extra 0.5 metre of Length costing

that is where a speed advantage lies IMO,

taking into consideration the legacy line honours speedsters (stealthy, bethwaites, zippier)   are 0.5 mtr shorter at 8 mtrs

Mark ?

Perhaps a victim of its own domanance? must be pretty lonely that far out in front all the time.
