I have never been a LBJ fan (political one or the basketball one) but I thought he showed a lot of class in the press conference. Some of the questions were just unbelievably stupid. One guy asks exactly the same question as was asked two questions before just so he can get his mug and name out on TV. Give me a F'ing break.
It ain't over until it's over and if any team is capable of doing what has never been done, it is the Heat. Saw it last year for sure.
I'm hoping that they wrap it up on Father's Day. I'll be at "The Friendly Spot" in Southtown (historic area just south of Downtown SA) with my wife and two daughters. If the Spurs don't win Sunday night I'm telling them all that they let me down.
I'm tempted to do an on-line bet on the Heat for Sunday night just so I'll have something if the Spurs lose. Plus my betting record is atrocious so it would probably be good Karma for the Spurs.
Sol, I agree it's Leonard (and Diaw) that are making it happen. I think the Heat are doing a decent job against the main targets, it's just that the Spurs have the depth to have others carry the game
I was against bringing LeBron to the Heat, arguing that he was a born loser who would find a way to lose. The self-aggrandizing "decision" on TV was the worst decision the guy ever made, but he was just a kid. Kids do stupid stuff from time to time. After the loss to the Mavs, I thought I had been proven right. Then the last two years happened. All the while, the guy has stayed out of the arrest reports, out of the gossip columns, stayed with the same girl, showed up for bike rides with groups of local kids, and lots of other stuff that never made the press. He is getting no help in this series, after getting a lot of help throughout the playoffs. As Mark notes, Wade is out of gas; nothing left in the tank. How many shots did he clank off of front iron? Most of them. This is not the same team as last year. Sunday should be the end of it. Ask me to concede and I will say "NUTS!", but I really don't see how the Heat win another one.
