Interesting story about the boat. She was custom designed for her first owner. He lived in Port ELizabeth, South Africa. The boat's hull and superstructure was built in Scotland back in 1960 and the unpainted structure was shipped to Port Elizabeth as deck cargo. The ship got caught up in red tape in a Central African port for almost a year. By the time the yacht was offloaded in Port Elizabteh the timbers had shrunk badly. The owner then put the boat in a shed in his garden. There they disassembled most of the boat and re-built it. Sadly ill health took over and he sold the boat before it was 100% ready for the water.
As a youngster growing up we would often stop at the boat shed to have a look at the boat while it was under re build.
