Ullman Speaks
Our second SA AudioCast was yesterday with Dave Ullman. If you know Dave, then you know what a good guy he is, and if you don't, you'll see, or rather hear it here. This one is fairly long, 30 minutes, and yet it doesn't cover nearly enough ground! We'll probably continue to do these in long form, but offer them in segments. We'd like to hear your comments on this one.

I thought it showed what Dave is truly like.
Cool, fun, humble and not at all unapproachable.
Dave really hits it on the nail with his comments on practice and new sails.
Maybe you could do another with:
Juan K?
ABN Skipper Sanderson?

right click the link to the file on the SA site.
click save file as or save link location as......
name it and save where you like on your system. The ullman interview is 28megs, this may take a while, the ed should work on cutting it down.....
Now you can listen on whatever media you like....................
Open itunes.com
Go on library than click file on upper left side of itunes and then in the drop down click add to library
Once the mp3 is in your library, you can right click it and add it to a playlist that goes to your ipod.
What i did in itunes, is creat a playlist called "sailing Podcasts".
Hook up your ipod. When the icon in Itunes shows up, right click, click options, and make sure that Sailing Podcasts" is checked for updating....this will send whatever sailing podcasts you have in that playlist.....
Enjoy!

Additionally it would be amazing to get a debrief interview with Americans George Peet and/or Andrew Lewis from ABN II. I am sure many on SA would be interested to hear the reflections of these two amazing young sailors after a race where they experienced both the highest highs and lowest lows.
Loved the Mike Sanderson suggestion above too but would love to hear from Peet/Lewis first.

Well thanks. I know a thing or two about entertaining content. Again, I'd like suggestions on who I should interview next.
To stir the pot a little would be good to have "Screaming Dee Smith" do an interview. He has been around the block more than a few times and could give out some good info. It would be interesting to hear his point view on technical subjects, pro sailing and future of TP52 & the new GP class and find out if he's really the total dick everyone says he is.
Others:
Buddy Melges, he's a living legend and a great speaker
Dennis connor (edit: maybe not)
Bouwe Bekking on Movistar
Ed Baird on coaching and what sailors should work on.
Stan Honey on weather routing.
Olin Stephens: another living legend that would be great to listen to.

I've told the Ed that I have one with Bouwe from Baltimore that was OK although I sound like a flaming moron. It's interesting how the interview plays into what happened to them later.
I'll get it to him one of these days...

I would like to listen to Gary Jobson on my way to work...
I thought it was excellent. On a whim I checked SA 5 minutes before I left for work and downloaded it to my iPod and listened to it in the car on the way there.
Only thing that dissappointed me was I didn't get to hear the last 8 minutes- for some reason it got cut off the end of the file...

Second Stan Honey, what about Mark Rudiger, Peter Isler, Shark Khan.
Well thanks. I know a thing or two about entertaining content. Again, I'd like suggestions on who I should interview next.
Isler ain't gonna happen - he's boring. Besides, I don't like him.

Dave brings up the financial interests to the boat builders and the sail makers, but what about the sponsors?
What about the Oracle sponsorship of the TP52? What are their budgets like? How do they handle the whole organizational details?
As for VOR, more information on the "race central" would be nice. Would be great to get interviews related to the organization of that race.
Personally I have no interest in hearing sailing stories, that just is just so - been-there-done-that. Anything related to the business side of things.

Ditto!
One reason to see what Dee Smith has to say about such subjects while being a dick and still being able to run top end programs and advising america's cup teams.
Also others could be good:
Juan K
&
Mark Mills
A cool thing would to have an open discussion/debate between several guest in one interview about such subjects.

Alan Bond
As in recently incarcerated Australian business man of AC fame?
As far as I was aware he was a business man, not a sailor.

My bad, you're right it's Olin Stephens.
But it would be cool if Ed could do an interview with Rod Stephens, now that would be a good interview.
