Morning boyz and girls...

Charleston woke up to a rather chilly morning but sunny day. Light breeze and calm seas are the order for the day. So far forecasts are for light today, 10-20 tomorrow and blowing stink Sunday. We'll see if it holds.

All boats are out to their respective courses. Clean is apparently going out with Tim Wilkes as we had some issues with boats this morning and had to swap rides.

We'll do our best to get you coverage ala KWRW. This time Clean and I swapped places. I'm on shore to provide support for the scorers on the RC boats and he's on the water reporting.

Will get more news as races start and we get info from the courses.

Inshore course still under postponement. Very very light breeze inshore...

South Course 2nd leeward mark - Decision, round ages ago followed by the Farr 36, Cracker (Ker), both Melges 32 rounding about a boat appart with 128 in the lead over 77, Sister Golden Hair and Yellow Jacket and the rest of the boats are still coming down to the mark.

Henderson just rounding in the middle of the 3 J120.

Sorry, guys - you know we're gonna have some issues at every regatta until we get dialled in. It's a good thing it happened today, as there ain't much breeze. I just got a report from the Farr 36, from SA'er doghouse - they took second behihnd decision (and they were relatively close - relatively), but the wind is dying offshore now. They had an unexpected NNE breeze of 8 or so that held for the first race, but now it's going away. I don't think seabreeze is going to beat it, but we'll see.


We're going over to the inshore course now to see if they're going to get a little racing in. They have been sittting around there, floating, for over 2 hours now.

Mer, HURRY UP - we've got to go get some gas babe!

The North coure was fun to watch - a bunch of PHRF classes, including a non-spin class - there are two C & C's that we saw - the white one with the big SLAM sticker on her was kicking some ass, the red one not so much...

Rhumb Punch looked to be holding pretty tight with the J/92's, but the 92S was further back than all of 'em...operator error, I hope. Luiz, what's the link to the scrolling screen?

Got to give some love to Rick Hall, the local SeaRay/Boston Whaler dealer. He took us out to the ocean course in a new Whaler 27 with twin Mercs - they're weird for 4 strokes - in-line sixes with superchargers...very sweet motors, we were cruising at 55 knots no problem. We've just switched over to a SeaPro 21 to watch the inshore boats, which sound like they're getting ready for a start. Luiz, pics, bitch!

This is a new forum and there were some permissions set for us to test the forum before going live. I think there are some setting in this forum that needs to be adjusted.

OK... update on the J24, Melges, etc... Inshore Course... Breeze has finally arrived and they started their first race on that course.

No further updates at this time. I'm just looking out the window and can see them racing.

Clean I think is at that course so maybe he'll post some news on them shortly.

We are waiting for some douche in a grady-white to fill his tanks with apparently about ten thousand gallons - then we're off to catch the inshore guys, who are racing. Wind's clocked around to 200-210, blowing 8-10. Not sure what's going on offshore...

Alright y'all - race 1 in the Melges was a fun one - Reggie Fairchild and Ned Goss (OSA) went from 2nd to 6th to 2nd again. Bill Blank takes first. Shifty as hell though - Ned said "the last boat to round the leeward mark crossed half the fleet on the next beat."

We're here for the entire next race, and we'll have the good stuff. Much comfier in here than outside, short courses and lots of boats. Outside it was justt too spread out...

Alright, 568 gets the great start, that's Bill Blank, 450 just behind. Simon had a good one on 592 but had to tack away and had a slow tack, with 497 right next to him. Fu (500) had a hard one and got killed, they're way off to the right now. We're headed to the top mark...

I just got a good report on the last J/24 start on the harbor course. It was an awesome start - the current was flooding hard, and the RC had an I-flag up. The wind picked up, and eight j/24s were over early. And as they waited for a General Recall...but wait, no general! All eight had to go back around the pin and re-start.

The melges had a huge pile-up at the top mark, same race. Current just screwing with everyone's heads - clean, no paint, but still good fun.

Remedy (Donovan 27), had wheels today - Rhumb Punch (with HB) needs a little more, and no more OCS's (like race 3). HB says that Remedy is going to be tough- they make no mistakes (so far) and they 've got a fast boat. He just had to go and fold some sails.
