We are definitely in on Austral
It's not so much the racing but the cause and the social conatations.
Wangi always put on a great day it is really worth taking the time to go over and support this event. Lot's of fun and very enjoyable.
I hope to see a lot of you there if you can make it.
It's disappointinting to see the patronage of recent event like 30 milers etc.

Happy to go head to head with the Sayer. I would have thought would be a reasonable form line. Weather however doesn't look promising. Not looking forward to a long work South in 25+. Ride back will be a different story. Mick = Chucky or MM?

It's Chucky!
If we hit 11knots which I say we will, and go to windward as well as I expect.
Gorn, you guys better sail well because as it is a h'cap race I'd say we will go okay. I just hope 20-25knts doesn't keep you guys in your PJ's and slippers and you get out there! :o :P

Well done to the blokes on Steathy. Sailed two good races and took the major prize. We had a few issues with a DNC on Saturday after destroying the main prestart. Sunday showed more promise finishing within 20 seconds of Frantic. Seems quick uphill. Maybe not quite the pace we expected off the breeze.

Went out 1hr prior to the start on Saturday. Loaded up on main sheet and vang and the main shat itself. Pulled the clew out. By the time I'd driven home and grabbed a replacement we missed the start by 1/2 hr or so. Just testing against the others when you saw us. Today was probably a better indication as to where we are. Seemed to have good speed and height when near Frantic. Made one poor call downwind and let him past. Tried to carry the Farr 40 chute on a tight angle. Had to dump and 2 sail to the mark. In less pressure hopefully we can say closer to Wal.

Poorly - as evidenced by the handicap result yesterday. We were giving start to all bar Wal. Considering it was our first run we were happy with the finish. While we will undoubtedly get better you have to remember the boat is 35ft long. It is always going to be difficult to hang in with the Sydney 41 uphill. Boats like Frantic and maybe Squid are our benchmark. Incidently looking at the division one fleet from the outside I didn't realise how quick Squid can be.

Vego

For what it is worth the Sydney database had us at about 1.23 and the OD35 at 1.11 so I would expect that you should get around 11% on a Farr 40. What speed did you get upwind in 20+ on Saturday?. Did you do any downwind stuff?.

We entered the spinnaker division but currently have a few punters looking to buy tyhe boat so was not going to tempt fate by flying the kite with the winds that were blowing. Results for us were pretty piss poor..but hey, we picked up the mystery prize of a $200 car detail. Might have to give that one to the wife as she has got the shits with me for buying another boat before the last one has gone!!

Was not a bad regatta but should not have hit the piss so hard Saturday night..fark when will I learn?

Speedo still needs calibration so hard to get an exact figure. Targets indicate we should get a max of 7.25knots in 20+ uphill. Only used one design chutes when testing on Saturday. Are way too small for PHS. On Sunday went with a Farr 40 fractional which is a perfect fit. Boat really came alive.

New toy on the lake for the Fathom guys this year, saw this out sailing in belmont bay yesterday, and went for a drive over to the western side of the world for a closer look today, looks alright, name on the side of the coach house looks like Vismara, not a whole lot to be found about them online, anybody got any idea how she will perform?? Will this be the boat to topple the F40 as gun boat at LMYC??

Go fast bits,
- Twin Wheels ( must be fast )
- Last seasons go fast hull colour ( could be new season colour on the lake)
- Mast head rig (WTF!)

Seriously, looks more of a challenge to the big Benny or Dufours than the F40, though I am willing to be corrected.

Whats the story with Sharpies JS DAVO?? i was at RMYC the day the went over and havnt seen or heard anything of it since.

Ill let others decide on the pecking order in D1 and LMYC ;)

SRB has been hauled out and is back at the owners place in the shed. Not sure if they have started fixing her yet or what the plan is to get her back on the water but I'm sure it will be.
Absolutely bizarre to see her sunk in the middle of Toronto bay with two crew members on her overturned hull. :(

Komodo will most likely go back in the water around the end of july - middle of August, we have the bowsprit and assy, we take it off each week when we finish racing so it doesnt get chopped to shit by the mooring lines, would be good to race Lobby, the channel is the main issue tho, its a serious job getting in and out these days so we'll see how that plays out

Hey Davo which F40 has Lobby purchased? Who is Sailing with him? That will make the A40's look a bit average. I saw Premier Cru at the spit with a for sale sign on it what is Kieth buying? See you at the next pointscore how about a jug?

Not sold, at this point anyway. The original plan was to campaign 07/08 then sell. Unfortunately with shipping delays boat didn't show up until Jan. Missed most of the season.

Plan at the moment is to continue with the occasional Sat at RMYC over the winter. If we have the boat will then look at Savilles, Coffs, Audi etc . Hopefully won't be too many clashes with etchell events.

What's a Ker 11.3 draw? May be a real issue getting it in and out of the Lake at the moment.

The blokes who had Hell Razer have bought Fathom. My spies tell me they are out there right now looking at new sails. Hell razer is back in Sydney so 1 boat lost out of the lake.

During the winter series race today out of LMYC there was a 38-40 footer following the fleet around. The name we think was RUMB. It never passed us as it turned away from the fleet on the second last leg. What is it...what is the story. It was grey I thnk and looked sorta like a syd 39???

Looking to ramp up the 1D35 program for the new season. Some of the regulars have other commitments so looking for a few extra bodies. Won't be out every week (other than Friday twilights) Just need blokes who are prepared to commit to key dates ie 30 / 50 miler / LMYC offshore / Savilles / Coffs etc. If there is anyone interested send me a PM.

So what's with the keel / hull join? Lifting keel or just a rough job? Cracking where bulb joins the keel also looks a concern.

Lifting keel, you would hope that it faired out and didnt have a gap like that when the board was down.

I was out the channel last weekend in my power boat and it looked so so shallow i hit bottom few times just off the markers between drop over and pelican. That streach of water is the worst i have ever seen it. I saw when i was there about a 36 foot cruising yacht (would draw fuck all) on its side way over stuck for ages going no were. The channel is FUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
