Hey, don't you have something better to do, like whine about 'Grandholm' (sic) or crow about Kwame?

I was thinking about it, but they seem to kill themselves without my help. As for a Presidential candidate acknowledging

I find to be quite hillarious(pun intended), as you and others bash conservatives for including their christianity in a political run for office.

So where's the critizism? Lets hear it atheists, did Obama lose your vote??? Or does he get a pass because he's running as a dem?

The difference is Obama doesn't claim to want to turn America into a Christian nation. He understands the separation of church and state. As an athiest, that's just fine with me. I think all the dem candidates understand this, and McCain and Guiliani do.

However....
Romney: Freedom requires religion just as religion requires freedom.
Huck: And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view.

I'd be interested in knowing if the POTUS is a believer in the apocolypse as described in Revelations. I don't like the idea of someone with their finger on the button who can't wait for the second coming. I also would question the critical thinking skills of any candidate that thinks the earth is 6000 years old or gets his moral compass from a convicted con-man who had some magic plates.

Such an angry atheist. For someone who doesnt like to hear about others beliefs you sure like to run your mouth and spout out yours. Ever think that maybe hearing about your belief is just as annoying to the others as their beliefs are to you?

Obama is Hillary's and the GOP's worst nightmare.

Intelligent, charismatic, bringing out the youth vote, Christian and willing and able to nail the would be swifters. As long as he picks the right running mate (Bill Richardson) I doubt McCain or Romney will be able to beat him.

Oh, I don't mind hearing others beliefs. I just like to comment on them. That's what you Christians don't like. You have no problem telling us how to live, but when we respond, you get all uppity on us.

Who is getting uppity? You talk of basing a moral compass on something. Having a moral compass is the actual issue.

Again with the "Know Jesus, Know Morals; No Jesus, No Morals" argument? Are you that ignorant to believe that religion is the only path to morality? Talk about uppity.

Who said anything about Jesus or Christians? I was talking about a moral compass and having one(and what contstitutes one, what other possibilities are out there that can be considered an influence on morals?). Again please qoute where I said anything about Jesus in this thread. I believe that was you. Your closed minded, stupid stereotyping is showing... you might want to cover that up.

Absolutely not.

(What Christians believe is that it is the only path to personal salvation and everlasting life in the spirit.)

I meant you were trashing what he based his moral compass on. He has a moral compass though and he wants us to know. Maybe someones moral compass is just the teaching of his good parents. Fine. I concede. My point is some people don't have a moral compass...I cant say for sure but I am skeptical Hillary fits that group

Hillary is a Christian.

Are you saying you don't trust her Christian moral compass?

Too much deviation. She must have left a wrench near the binnacle or something.

If Romney boasted that he got his moral compass from the teachings of Charles Manson, would it be ok to trash him for that? Or is it just that he has a moral compass makes it above comment?

Who said it was above comment? If he told us that then we would know something about him just like we know something about him when he said it was Jesus. Two polar opposites of the spectrum. You can be as inflammatory as you want today I am just not in the mood to get riled- It's Friday. AHHH! Sorry I may want to play later though....after a few cocktails. I will try to make it Tequila for you.

You are gonna need it.
Romney boasted that his moral compass is from his fathers faith. The faith of his father is Mormonism, founded by Joseph Smith. The same religion that proclaimed dark skinned people were sub-human until 1979. The same religion that proclaimed women were the possessions of their husbands, traded and transferred as the bishop saw fit. This is Romney's moral compass. I think it deserves comment and isn't that far off from the rantings of Charles Manson.

But alas, I will let you off the hook. Heading out to enjoy some snow caving with the kids for the weekend.

Yes some religious doctrine can be wrong and some outdated or both. I don't trust Romney anyway. I saw him on the George Stephawhatever show...I was not impressed.

Snow caving? Not sure what that is but sounds fun. cheers

You bundle up, head into the wilderness, pile up the snow, dig out a cave and sleep in it. Pray the to the good lord you make it out alive. Great fun. Especially the praying part.

Sounds excellent. We could have done that in the south in '93 I think it was.

If you get buried dig around your face and let spit roll out of your mouth to determine which way to dig.
