Question for the cognac connoiseurs Hennesy or Remy Martin??

Point #1 - While I have never really taken to the taste of cognac, I seem to have aquired a couple of bottles in my supply of things intoxicating. They have not seemed to be desired by others who endulge themselves occasionally from said supply, so at least one of them is really are only taking up valuable space.
Point #2 - I have a friend who enjoys cognac, and to whom I feel mildly indebted.
Desired solution - Give said friend one of the bottles. Easily said, but I would rather it be the better of the two.
So, my problem . . . I have no idea which is truely the more desired of the two.
Bottle #1 - Hennesy very special
Bottle #2 - Remy Martin VSOP
(my suspicion is the VSOP, but would rather it confirmed by someone who actually knows)
Anyone care to lend their opinion??

if you're feeling flush - go for a bottle of the Remy finest - a Louis XIII. It's stupid money but probably quite good. Then you can watch them kill themselves a la Bryan Brown in Cocktail.

Might also want to look at Armagnac - basically the same stuff, just different region.

So the Remy VSOP it is. Thanks all for the input. I'll keep your other thoughts in mind regarding going better sometime when I really owe someone, and am buying a bottle specifically for that reason.
As for the VS, how well do you think it would work as fibreglass cleaner?? <_<
Enough talk of the cognac, time for more important things . . . now where did I put that bottle of rum . . .

She may be asleep.....
That's an insult to the Grand Marnier.
Besides, GM does just fine in that department alone.

Just to make it all more confusing, why not a Curvoisier? A close friend of mine only swears for it. Another one, had serious lapses of reason when he abused cognac.

Cognac and Grand Marnier is called a "beautiful", warmed snifter or rocks.
Note: never heat liquor directly- heat the glass, add hot water, etc.
As to preferred cognac, within reason, try Francois Peyrot Grande Champagne XO (25 year old) or the Deret XO 30 year old. Both are excellent, well balanced cognacs, and run ~$70.
More info if interested; know a bit about liquor, food, and other pleasant vices...
Cheers
