Having been the one who reviewed the entries today ... PLEASE ensure you complete the form using dark ink. We have one faxed K6 registration where all I can read is that they're from New York (could be New Jersey), and that it's an RS K6.

Here's a link to the registration form
http://www.americanyc.com.
Click on RACING (in the left-hand margin)
Click on 2008 Heineken HPDO
Click on Entry Form - it's a PDF (attached here, too, for ease)

Attached File  entry_form_HeinekenHPDO_2008.pdf ( 22.55K ) Number of downloads: 23

Humm ... 2 moths only? We sent our forms Friday, 2 moths from Annapolis. I'm guessing Peter and Chris are registered too. That should be at least 4, unless we screw up the faxing thingy.

None as of yesterday mid-day. That's not to say none will show up. Remember, a lot of participants just register as they show up on race day.

We're trying to get more numbers now so that we can more accurately prepare, in terms of quantities of registration kits, food, etc. It's not much fun to show up at a regatta and then not get a complete registration package because they ran out of kits due to last-minute registrations. It also puts more of a strain on the kitchen when, at the last minute, registrations jump by 50 or more.

So c'mon - the extra $20 goes to a local charity and kicks in starting today. Whether you pay it now or Columbus Day, you're gonna pay it so cough it up sooner rather than later, please, to help us be best prepared.

The link to the form is above, and if you have no access to a fax machine, scan it and send to kmccabe, or me (send PM for email address)

Add a contender and an IC to that list. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The scan & email thing seems to be easier for many. Please PM either kmccabe or me for our email address if you don't have a fax, and we'll get your registration in to the club.

Should be close to 30 Acats attending, the NJ trailer is being unloaded in Rye on its way back from the Nationals, so thats 7 boats. Plus the rest of the Hopatcong crowd, a few from Bristol, Annapolis, and 2 from CT.

15 boats from Hopatcong, NJ
5 from PA, and MD
5 from Bristol
3 from CT
1 member Rye borrowing a boat.

Oliver Moore is not sailing his Acat, he's on a canoe, someone needs to borrow his boat it will be unloaded in Rye.

Last I've heard, he's bringing the queen of the blue boats along with his canoe.

Sweet!! Good to hear those kinds of numbers. Hopefully they won't all wait until the morning-of to register (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Heading to the club tomorrow evening and will double check numbers & report back.

Keep sending those scaned/faxed/mail-in registrations!

The pleasures of sailing a canoe at a high level are equal to, though different in character from, the pleasure of foiling.

Bill, having designed, built and sailed both boats, is supremely qualified to make an informed decision between them. Perhaps it is you who should reconsider your choice for the regatta?

I'm pretty certain the canoe fleet could arrange to get a boat there for you to sail - which, for all its camaraderie, is not an offer I hear coming out of the Moth fleet very often.

no attack on Bill, I just thought he would like a little push toward the moth. And yes he has designed and built some nice boats. So the question is if you had both available which one would you race in the regatta? IC or Moth? fleet size may be the same.......

OH as for letting others use the moth - i think the mothies are very eager to share the fun - you know that to be true, you were at Newport letting all the IC sailors have a go on your boat along with others. And i think they all thought that they would be building their own moths after the IC worlds.... we should get them going on that project soon? Then there will be more IC sailors with the problem of which boat to sail at the HPDO each year.....

Beck's,

I will trade a ride in a Moth for a ride in a new rules IC! after racing on Saturday. I missed my chance to try out the Bladerider in McCrae. At 195+, & with three kids, building a Moth will only get me in trouble! I would jump at the opportunity to try one out. BTW, you might be seduced by the ride on the IC as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) .

See you in Rye.
