I believe last year a late change was made to the SI's requiring the skippers to have skippered previous events.........was this the case and if so ,what events and can the co-skipper qualify?

There was no late change like that. There was a late addition of a requirement for sail number banners that was rather irksome.

I see you got your form filled out and your entry is already the database. Good show! So far so good, and we have had only had one spammer entry so far.

Turns out I've got a gig with the CIA up that way this fall. Hugo Drax, up to his usual tricks, is plotting the capture of Defense Secretary Gates from his island hide-away and I'm an expert on the Drax-Method. I've already got my spare time booked with the BigGuy-PinkHat but if you're game Mr. Lo maybe we could do a little sailing?

Does anyone know if that registration is a OIYC site specific program, or is it available to any PHRF-NW club to use? Sure would be nice to have though out the NW?

I like how when you register you get added to the fleet list immediately. That's cool.

From looking at the source code, this is site specific. However, the webmaster for OIYC is named Bob Brunius, and it appears that he authored the page.

Perhaps, see if he would open it up for other clubs?

It's a thought. There is a little work to be done to get it to be flexible enough. I'd need to pull all the inline CSS out and put it into a skinnable external file. No big deal. The race scoring system we use for the local beer can races works pretty well too. So yes, I've been thinking about doing a Yacht Club package. It would be nice to get PHRF-NW to get their data base onto a WEB accessible SQL server. Pretty easy to do. Lots of stuff to be done. Yacht Club reciprocal morage relationships really need one central database. Any unemployed WEB developers out there that want to start on an open-source spec job?

It's nice to see Carl Buchan back with Madrona after last years unfortunate accident. Their mast came down just before the finish in Roche. Maybe something they'd rather forget. Was that mast built in China?

The Anacortes Yacht Club is using www.regonline with great success. It is fully integrated with the club website (www.anacortesyachtclub.com) and can process complex registrations, take payments and is fully secure. You can also upload PHRF & insurance certificates, plus order t-shirts & dinner tickets, etc.... The club also uses this system for their annual ball - works great and costs a couple of dollars per registration. As far as electronically referencing the PHRF database, this could be easily be setup by PHRF-Northwest or some enterprising member.

However - the difficulty with any on-line system is that some people still want to mail in their completed entry forms - ideally it would be completely on-line making the event much easier to manage.

Nice job on your race entry set up. Looks great. I especially liked the photo by Nancy Laeha that is on the cover of your 2009 Race Pack. That shot from the 2007 RTC was a good choice.
