that's enough. i want people to get back to the real boat issues. of course i expect irreverence and the occasional fuck you, but the trolls and their horse shit will be flicked. sailing anarchy this year has been one of the most enjoyable ever, and i want to make sure that we keep the class going. so bring your content about the boat, and let's build upon what we have, or we won't have anything at all...

used market is moving indeed. We're in celebration mood here in san fran for the replacement of Savage Beauty with FT10 #41, that has just arrived and will go in the water next week. The fact that the owner has decided to get another FT10 (in a buyers' market, with plenty of other opportunities) it's a very strong statement on the qualities of the boat and vitality of this class.

This forum is falling off track already. Seriously though- last weekend was fantastic! Thanks Scot and everyone else that put it together.
Your commitment to getting this forum back on track is right on target and very timely- things with the FT class feel very much on the upswing w/ the secondary market coming alive and new enthusiastic owners getting involved. If we massage these boats just a little (i.e. the new rudder, and non-furler headstay) the boats have a future if a builder that wants to push it get's involved- the market will improve!

i agree 100% percent. there is reason to believe and with some work and a little luck, the class can make it.

Nice Scot, thanks.
To echo your thoughts - every person who has sailed on my boat has said "It's a great boat" full stop, no qualifiers. With a little economic recovery and a little luck we'll get more boats into the country and get the class moving forward again.

No to hijack the thread... but I only know of two folks kicking tires, and neither are too close to being serious. Fingers crossed, and I'm going to try a few more events next summer that might drive a little interest if I don't screw something up.

I'm not trying to bust your balls here, but do you really think this forum will ever be taken seriously without performing the 'final solution' on a certain FT owner?
Time outs don't seem to work. Perhaps you could permanently lock him in that PA cesspool.
The boat is not above valid complaints/criticism, and prospective owners should be able to ask questions without a rabid psychopath jumping on them for anything that doesn't come across as cheerleading for the boat.

That seems like a reasonable statement. Be great if the curious could ask questions too.

umm.....i think the builder might just be a "real boat issue".....used prices don't exactly soar when the builder calls it quits....and its a little tough to grow the class if there aren't any new boats being produced...
is the builder gone?
