This bizarre mess is known as Ankida, vaporware from the Lila-Lou design house - unsurprisingly, a firm that specializes in interior design of megayachts and buildings. Don't quit yer day job

So, here's a link to the abomination itself.

Urgh. Nasty. Don't look at the pics if you're eating...

There's just something about that photo that reminds me of the bit in Waterworld when Kevin launches a box kite from a gun on his foredeck. The imaginary doodlings of someone who has absolutely no fundamental understanding of what he's doing.

Like a 10K dress made with 10 cents of gauze that barely covers celebrity nipples, a load of crap like this is set to attract the kind of spoilt monied putz who needs to be the centre of attention. It might be a marine nonsense, but show this boat to a non-sailor and they all go WOW!

Once launched she would be pictured in every newspaper and magazine in the world, with the owner feeling cock o the hoop and nose deep in glamourous pussy wherever she wallows.

The good news it that it seems to be designed to only go dead down wind. So if you had the misfortune to see it once you’d be unlikely to ever see it again.

The spinnaker. No, really, stop laughing. Foredeck guys, unclench your fists. They really mean it. Spinnakers are famously easy to handle and well behaved sails, so it will just stow in the box up there, no trouble at all. At least they have their priorities straight! Take for example the huge combination Air Conditioner/Ice Maker mounted 100 feet above deck where it's easy to maintain and service!

This project needs a pitchman -- someone who can ram his vision down the unsuspecting throats of naive, romantic victims investors.

I seriously hope that they actually build these things. Would easily put them out of business. I mean seriously one "boom" goes forward and one aft upwind. Regardless of whether or not it works it has to be the most difficult boat to sail ever.

Not so surprising that some tool would design this... would be much more surprised if someone parted with many millions of dollars to build it.

I wonder how you're supposed to tack those sails? As you go through the eye of the wind, I guess you let fly the one that's pointing forward and crank the aft-pointing one up?

Weren't you paying attention during the video ???? those are the vertical axis wind turbines to supply power to the ship. I'm sure the little extra weight aloft won't hurt, right ??
