You are right but I am really tired of him. Scott please oh please make my life a little more enjoyable and can this d-bag ====================== Bora OH Bora: Whats the matter, wrong way? First you say that a conventional configuration Moth is a canard-and brag about convincing Julian Bethwaite of this. When I point out your error you sort of apologize-did you apologize to Julian? I came up with a great cartoon showing you trying to sail the Moth like a canard-backwards,wrong way. It is hilarious-would you like to see it? And its funny in this thread and the same thread at boatdesign where in your patented inarticulate style you say: "no windward heel" Of course I asked why you said that and you said "connect the dots" and I did as the Master said to do. And you know what I found? I found that you were wrong, wrong way ! Dead ,flat completely wrong and in the great SA tradition I posted pictures to prove it. And Foiler Moth Guy backed me up,wrong way. Is this what you find so annoying? Does the fact that I was right on two clear cut issues and you were dead flat wrong annoy you? And there are lots of other little wrong wayisms floating around: like when you quoted me as wanting to build a kite foiler to jump with. Gee, you were wrong there too, wrong way. Was that an outright lie-or just a minor slip of the brain? Huh? Have a great trip, wrong way........ --- Geez, I almost forgot: you be the world champ and a damn good sailor, right? Well, whats the difference between "veal heel" and weather heel, champ? There is a specific, technical difference-why don't you tell the boys and girls what it is? I'm waiting... Still waiting waiting..... I've got 17 inches for your mom, Doug. And I understand she likes it "the wrong way." Yeehaw! |

Clean, what is wrong with you? Making references to someone's mom is a surefire to get a fistfight started in a face to face confrontation. It also invalidates any point you are trying to make in an argument, anyone who insults his opponents' mother to score points in an argument is just begging to be decked instantly. In a confrontation on an internetforum like this it's just a cheap move to get as much shit flying as possibly. Take Baltic Bandit's advice to Bora into account, stop looking how far you can push someone before he snaps.
Not trying to be a Doug Lord apologist, but I'm not going to stand idly by while I see something going horribly wrong. Might be worth considering closing this thread before things start going wrong in the real world. |

Frankly Genealex, I'd love to see Doug snap. At least I'm not talking about his grandmother yet. And we don't close threads, at least not when the insults are just getting good. You haven't been around that long, have you?

Not as long as you have, and I usually don't dislike a shitfight. But like I said, this one doesn't feel right to me. I've said my piece, do what you will...

That is a simple fact and proven. You are the greatest bore in the foiling world. This is a simple fact and proven. You claim to fully understand foiling and everything about it yet you have no track record outside of the theoretical. Foiling 3 times on a boat that by your won admission wasn't good enough is not a track record. Neither is building model boats with "lots of help" from somebody else. And neither is sitting in a Rave which, a boat which you stated only last year hasd no relevence to bi-foiling monohulls. I would suggest until you build your new boat and prove to the world that it works, you show a little humility rather than keep up your track record of insulting every Moth foiling world champion other than Rohan (because that is what you have done). |

Having looked at the picture in question of the 49er, clearly not a controlled windward or "Veal Heel". If you new anything about sailing a skiff, they are clearly trying to head up to keep the boat from tea bagging. How can I tell you ask? Take another look at where the tiller is and I can also see the body language of a skiffie preparing to hit the piss in a not so subtle way. 50 hours does not count toward any sort of mastery. Just build the f'ing boat and show what you're made of. I'd actually like to see the live feed of Clean and Bora doing the ala Dan Rather expose'. You'll probably get a lot of "You're not seeing what you're looking at." as the refrigerator repairman is caught on tape pulling the ice maker out of the fridge so he can get you to buy a new one from him. |

Regarding the 49er there is a massive amount of lee helm when they are heeling the weather obvious by the tiller position and the wake coming off the foils goes through the roof.
I think a DA undercovered OTW anarchy is in order. Go find Dr. Branfield, stop by the windsurfing beach, and finish up with the garage! |

Don't change the subject-the question was whether a twin strut foiler could veal heel-you said in couldn't here and on boat design. It was not a question of whether or not performance would be improved- though as I said from the begining its doubtful with any twin strut boat. Maybe you're all mixed up again between Julians canard and KissKut and Clives conventional configuration? Ass backwards again, wrong way? Have a good trip..... Oh, would you like to see the cartoon-you know-Moth as canard?? still waiting and so are the masses: aren't you going to tell them all from on high what the technical difference is between veal heel and windward heel and why veal heel only works on a foiler? Aren't ya?? Huh? |

But as incisive as you are,as technically adept and skiffie as you claim to be you missed something didn't you??? Yes you did: this thread is about KissKut a CONVENTIONAL foiler arrangement and Bethwaites is a canard-theres that word again-seems to give wrong way trouble too. Anyway, go back and look at the picture of Clives boat-a twin strut conventional arrangement foiler veal heeled. Case closed. Remember the original question was COULD a twin strut foiler veal heel-Bora oh Bora said it could not-and he was -sorry but its true: dead ,flat wrong! |

You're good! See Simon, what you did was prove my theory that a lot of the anger towards me is because I DARE to ask THe Great One a question!! Thats it Simon and it is a truly psycotic fact: he seems to get more pissed the more times I ask a question-any old question. And you know Simon-given that The Great One gets so upset when I ask a question can you imagine the internal turmoil if I was to suggest an answer??!! It just drives the guy nuts-and a few others too. Thats just plain insanity fed by a lynch mob mentality liberally sprinked with ignorance and a mix of the inability to articulate a technical position.(intelligently, like you, Simon) |

Bora has a Bachelors' degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. Both of his parents are deans of engineering colleges at respected state universities. He spends more making his own custom parts, sailing them to destruction and then improving them than anyone else I know. He is the WORLD champion in these things and what is more practically had the worlds in the bag with a day to go.
Dog, Your delusions bring you to think that Sailing Anarchy is somewhere where people give a shit about writing style and prowess. So, like the warped old vinyl LP that I am, I repeat: WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, DOUG LORD? GIVE US NAMES. GIVE US COLLEGES. GIVE US PROFESSIONAL BODIES. GIVE US A RESUME WHICH DOESN'T CONTAIN THE WORDS "COCOA BEACH MENTAL ASYLUM" GIVE US SOME EXPLANATION FOR YOUR BEHAVIOUR. OR.... GET THE FUCK OUT AND DON'T COME BACK |

Doug seems to want the answers given to him on a plate rather going out building / testing / breaking / building / testing / breaking / building / testing / not-breaking his ideas in real-life boats (not models).

This thread initially caught my eye because Kut (as in KissKut) is the Dutch word for cunt, something this thread hasn't been lacking.
