Hello all i550 owners in Victoria,Australia.
I am waiting for my plans to arrive from US.
In the meantime i would love to catch up with anyone who is building or have an i550 on the water.
Would be keen to have a look or even go for a sail.
I am located in Colac, about 150km from Melbourne and have no trouble travelling if i have to.

Some one else is going to have to give you the Traditional SA welcome speech. I have sworn off.

Your set of plans went into the mail on the 13th. Usually takes about 10 days for them to arrive in Australia. I think Clownfish is in your neighborhood. Check in with him via the build blogs at i550.org under the blogs menu.

Oh, OHHHH, Oh a newb hold me back...........

I don't think the Newb thing applies to SB anarchy. We are above that, here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Hey Timber, what number plan set/hull are we on these days?

No we're not........ Fuck off newbie!!!!!!!

Now, with that out of the way, not sure if any in build in Vic, but there's one underway just over the Strait in Launceston, side panels on I think, but haven't been out to check lately. Builder had everything CNC router cut here, I can pass on contact details for guy that did them if you PM me. I also have plans for the i550, but when an Elliot 5.9 became available for $3500 I couldn't pass on that!!

cheers

The last one sent in the states went to Eugene Oreegon, not too far from the Columbia Gorge wind tunnel.

No worries, I will (if timber makes the data available)
We could put the link on the class site and eliminate half the "who's doing what/where?" questions.

Neat that the blog/website info in on the pins. I thought this thing had some tech issues and kept crashing?

I think timber wanted to keep folks information generally private, but perhaps he could provide us with a list of hull#s and locations and we could start there. A solicitation on SA or the org site could gather more particular info (blogs, etc.) that people want to contribute.

Well I had the good fortune to sail on the "Death by SNOO SNOO" (CLOWNFISH) in its first sail and I can tell you that the first sail out of the marina yesterday the helmsmen "Tom Laurel" nearly fell of the back standing up as it took of in the first puff of wind.
The main sheet man "Geoff Hardy" was trying to get used to the speed needed to trim as well as myself.
Guys we could not stop laughing from the excitement of it all. It was pure adrenalin.
I think Laurel and hardy team might best be called the three stooges when we get to LAUNCHING The KITE "YIKES"

Just had a look at the clownfish blog at i550.org. nice pictures. looks like there was enough breeze to make "Death by Snoo Snoo" show a little bit of squirt ;(/) ....

There's a fair rooster tail on some of those pics. Nice bit of breeze for the first sail!

PS - your hiking straps seem to have a hard-on.
